The Atlanta Speedway is located on 870 acres of beautiful Georgia property! There is plenty of parking available at the Speedway, and all for free! Visitors to the Atlanta Speedway will find convenient camping spots, and can bring their own picnics and beer along to the events. Some campsites are located in the infield of the Speedway. Pit-passes can be purchased at the Atlanta Speedway, but you must have a grandstand ticket and be older than 14 to enter the pit.
Atlanta Motor Speedway - Events and Races
The Atlanta Motors Speedway promotes itself as family friendly. It offers summer events and NASCAR racing that the whole family can enjoy. The Pep Boys Auto 500 will be held on October 28, 2007. This is one of the many exciting events the Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts. During the summer, they host "Thursday Thunder." Thursday Thunder is a 10-week series of racing, all geared to be family-friendly. In addition to racing, these Thursday nights include games, contests, and prizes.
Atlanta Motor Speedway - Drive on a NASCAR track
Once a year, the Atlanta Motor Speedway hosts an event where you can drive your own car on their track! The date of this exciting event changes every year, so keep an eye on their event calendar. You can also get the chance to drive a real race car on the track if you take lessons through one of the race schools that uses the track.
Atlanta Motor Speedway - Hotels and Camping
The Atlanta Motor Speedway provides camping areas for its visitors. Options for reserved campsites include in-field campsites, and outside camping areas that have a view of the track. Their campsites are all located close to the Atlanta Speedway transportation. They all have quiet hours of midnight to 7:00 am, except for the family-friendly camping area, where quiet hours begin at 10:00 pm.
Prices for reserved RV spots at the Atlanta Speedway camping areas ranges from $100 to $175. You can also buy a spot for the whole year from $800 to $1,000. Unreserved campsites cost $60, payable upon arrival.
The official hotel of the Atlanta Motor Speedway is the Renaissance Concourse Hotel, located near the Atlanta airport. Other recommended hotels are the Holiday Inn in Peachtree City and the Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville. These hotels are all fairly far from the Atlanta Speedway, and traffic is bad during NASCAR events, so camping is probably the most relaxing option.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway is a great race track. One of my older nephews drove on the track this weekend in conjunction with a nationwide young driver training program (article?)
