NASCAR Sprint Cup Richmond Air Guard 400: Las Vegas Odds & Picks to Win

The NASCAR Race to the Chase Wraps Up in Richmond: Who Will Make a Statement

Todd Jacobs
The NASCAR Sprint Cup ends the NASCAR Race to the Chase in Richmond every year but this season is not likely to produce a dramatic comeback. Clint Bowyer holds a 117 point advantage over the 13th place driver in the NASCAR Sprint standings, Ryan Newman.

Richmond is a track that is only a three quarters of a mile but races like a super speedway. Richmond is wide and usually provides up to three racing grooves for the drivers. This leads to long green flag runs and the drivers that are good at getting fuel mileage do have an advantage.

Best pick to Win NASCAR Sprint Cup Richmond Air Guard 400

Tony Stewart has been on a tear as the summer months come to a close and back to back wins would not be out of the question. Stewart had not recorded a win until last weeks race on Labor Day Weekend in Atlanta. Now this Richmond track will play right into his hands.

Stewart is best when he drives a loose car and the part-time dirt sprint car driver will be at his best under the lights at Richmond. The cars may not be as loose as a day race would be but there will be plenty of cars running on the edge of out of control in this race. Stewart is a 10-1 shot to win the Richmond Air Guard 400 and is the best bet to win.

Second Best Bet to Win NASCAR Sprint Cup Air Guard 400

Greg Biffle has been an up and comer since mid summer and he is destined to make his way back into the winner's circle in the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. Biffle is another driver that will be focused on one goal in this race. He must win to gain more bonus points.

Biffle's return to the top of the leader board was predicated by the Roush Fenway teams development of the Ford FR-9 engine. Since the engine has been used in race conditions on a regular basis, three of the four Roush Fenway teams have done much better. Biffle is a 18-1 shot to win the Richmond Air Guard 400 and a solid second pick.

Third Best Bet to Win NASCAR Sprint Cup Air Guard 400

The pressure is now off of Mark Martin and this would be a perfect spot for him to win his first Sprint Cup race of the 2010 campaign. Martin's performance in 2010 has been curious. After winning five races in 2009 and contending for the NASCAR Sprint Cup championship, Martin has yet to win a race and only has five top five finishes. Mark Martin is 30-1 to win the NASCAR Sprint Cup Richmond Air Guard 400 and is a decent pick for a long shot bet.
