The Latest News on Natalee Holloway is Lifetime's Airing of Original Movie, Not that They've Found a Body
Natalee Holloway went missing on the island of Aruba in May 2005 and nearly from the beginning, the story was in the news. Gathering a life of its own, the coverage of the Natalee Holloway disappearance became a mainstay of the cable news networks. Although the investigation into the matter centered around three young men, Joran van der Sloot and brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, and those same men have been arrested numerous times on suspicions of involvement in the Natalee Holloway case, they have never been charged with her murder. It is unknown if they were the last individuals to see Holloway alive, but they are the last people others saw Natalee Holloway with before she went missing.
She left a nightclub with the young men, got in their car, and they drove away...
It is at this point where the story of Natalee Holloway trails off into nothing. One version of the story is that the men dropped Natalee Holloway off at her hotel after partying with her. Another finds Joran van der Sloot on the beach with a drunken Natalee Holloway, where he leaves her to her own devices sometime during the night. There are permutations of the stories, who was where and when, and denials of stories, who was not where and when, and although aspects of the stories may not have formed a sensible or cohesive picture, authorities never found enough evidence to prosecute them for a crime.
Although there have been developments over the years that read more like a soap opera script than actual events (but nevertheless are), Beth Holloway, Natalee's mother, and Dave Holloway have kept the media involved in the latest news regarding their missing daughter's case and at the same time kept pressure on the Kalpoes and van der Sloot, who they are convinced either know where Natalee Holloway is, where her body can be found, or had something to do with her disappearance. Although the three young men admitted to partying with Holloway, and although their stories seemed to vary more and more as time went on, the Aruban authorities never amassed enough evidence -- nor got one of them to confess -- to make a charge against them stick. Allegations that Joran van der Sloot's father, an Aruban judge, was indirectly involved and/or hindered the investigation from the onset (he worked with the officials that handled the investigation).
Beth Holloway has stated on numerous occasions that she believes that the men gang-raped her daughter and either killed her or were complicit in her disappearance. The three men have denied ever having sex with Holloway or having anything to do with her disappearance (although versions of their individual involvements vary).
A tragic and convoluted case, the latest actual news regarding Holloway's disappearance occurred when Dave Holloway, acting on a tip, took a search dog to Aruba in March. Fox News reported that a witness had passed a polygraph test while stating that a reservoir in northern Aruba might be a location where Natalee Holloway's body might be found. The witness had said he had seen Joran van der Sloot exiting the reservoir with only one sanda on shortly after the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Although Aruban authorities claim no knowledge of any new information that would lead them to the reservoir, they gave Dave Holloway permission to search the area.
"I've been looking for (nearly) four years and I intend to seach all the evidence and every lead," Dave Holloway told the Associated Press.
His search, however, proved unsuccessful.
For the record, to date Natalee Holloway, or her lifeless body, has yet to be found. CBS 42 in Birmingham reported in May that the case remained open but Aruban authorities admit they have no new leads. Fox News reported that Aruban Chief Prosecutor Hans Mos said that his office was "approaching the end of this lengthy investigation."
Interest in the Natalee Holloway story will no doubt remain for quite some time. Back in 2005, there was a period of months when not a day went by that there wasn't at least a couple hours of reports and updates (at least on the cable news networks) concerning the Holloway case. As for now, the case still gets prominent mention in the news whenever there is a development, no matter how small.
Natalee Holloway's unfortunate story has become a cautionary tale to young women on vacation in exotic places. And with no body found, it remains an intriguing mystery as well...

Why don't Joran van der sloot tell where Natalee's body is . The world knows that he killed her. People can be so mean. One he doesn't realize is that GOD knows and see's everything and he hasn't gotten away with anything. Frankly, I hope he burns in hell, because he thinks it is a game, or just funny.
I think you people need to be more respectful to the Holloway Family. I am sure that if this had happened to your daughter or someone in your family, you wouldn't want people on here trash talking them.... Maybe some of you need to put yourself in Natalie's Family's shoes, even just for a second.
Because, Rick Myers, many people are opinionated moral judgmentalist asses that find faults in others without seeing any such fault within themselves or those they care about. It is a selective myopia common to those who believe their morals, values, ethics, and judgment are far superior to others. Of course, all their mistakes can be explained away as though they were all misunderstandings or someone else's fault...
I don't know what's wrong with some of the people whose comments I just read. Why is it so easy to find the fault with the victim. I am sure every one of us, at some time, have made a bad decision. We just didn't do it with an animal like Van Der Sloot involved. Instead of finding fault with Natalie's choices how about finding fault with the choices the boy's whose car she got into. How many of you are smarter than a fifth grader once you are drunk? Should you have been murdered for your bad judgement? Could her supposed intoxication of been amplified by maybe being given some substance without her knowledge?...and then faced with a manipulator such as Joran. It's the predator's that are evil not the victims and I think many of you are very disrespectful to Natalie and her family with the comments I read. This young lady with her loose morals has to accept some of the blame for what happened to her. If she hadn not been acting out her sluttiness in a foreign land this would not have happened to her. Nobody forced her to go with those three boys. Nothing except her over-active libido. She should have stayed home where the local boys could have taken care of her needs. There was no need to go to Arruba, some third world center of nastiness.
