Natalie White Beats Out Russell Hantz to Win Survivor Samoa

In a rather unexpected result in the season finally of Survivor Samoa, Natalie White beat out the ever popular Russell Hantz , for the title of sole survivor , to take home the reality show's million dollar cash prize.

Russell, perhaps the most dominant player since Richard Hatch won the shows first installment looked visibly upset when host Jeff Probst declared Natalie the winner. However, as a consolation prize, Russell took home the "Sprint Player of the Season." The award given to the player who receives the most votes from the viewers, carries with it a $100,000 cash prize.

For the most part, the life portion of the season finally centered more around the 36 year old oil company owner from Dayton Texas, then any other player this season including the eventual winner. Russell for his part continued his on the air antics when he offered to buy the title from Natalie.

Unsuccessful at winning the game or even buying the title from the winner, Russell may yet get another chance to chase the coveted crown he so desperately chased this season, since Probst announced that the next installment of the show (the 20th) will be made up of an All-Star cast of past competitors. Loosely titled "Villians and Heroes," the show will feature teams made up of players who have eithered exhibited skills in "deception, manipulation, and duplicity," or "integrity, courage, and honor."

The show which will begin aring on February 11th, 2010, should include this year's most popular player, since there seems to be little doubt that both CBS and Russell would not jump at the opportunity to do it all over again.
Unfortunately, it is doubtful that Richard Hatch, who is still serving the home confiment portion of his tax evasion sentence will be on hand to offer a suitable challenge.
