Nathan Fillion's Range of Realistic Emotions Keeps Bringing Fans Back for More

L. Vincent Poupard
Nathan Fillion is a star that can brag about the fact that he has some of the most devoted fans. His ability to display emotions "purely" is something that many actors strive for. Throughout his multiple roles, Fillion has proven that he is a natural when it comes to communicating his emotions.

Many of the top actors of all time have issues displaying certain emotions. Issues like this can stick out like a sore thumb. You might notice that certain actors will overact at certain times to compensate for their inability to communicate that emotion properly. Some actors are just not able to display that type of emotion. This does not mean that they are bad actors; it just means that they do not have a full range of emotions.

Nathan Fillion is different. If you watch an episode of "Castle" or dig up one of the old issues of "Firefly," you will see almost a full complement of emotions in almost every episode. Due to his ability to display every emotion naturally, he can draw fans in deeper than they would imagine. Fillion can convince you of his anger in one scene, have you laugh along with him in the next and have you cry along with him in the final scene.

Many people who look at Nathan Fillion fans believe that they are his fans because they are fans of his television shows. This is not always true. Many people who are Fillion fans are that way because they could easily imagine themselves having a beer with him. There is an emotional connection that they can make with him.

By creating this aura of believability in his emotional characterizations, Nathan Fillion is able to win over more and more fans all the time. As I see the popularity of "Firefly" and "Castle" grow all the time. I also see the number of blogs and websites dedicated to the fans of Fillion. I have to believe that he is not only winning more and more fans now, but will continue to win them over for many years in the future.

He has that face which seems so familiar, to make you think you've seen him all over. When in fact, I've only seen him in the lesser known roles (Slither) (and of course on commercials for Castle) it seems like he's been in a lot more.

So true, Castle is one of my favorite shows.
