National Boss Day is every October in America. As most American workers know, you can have a good boss and you can have a terrible boss. Many Americans wonder how their boss got promoted to a level of incompetence. This is known as The Peter Principle. It is truly amazing how many bosses you will have in your lifetime that actually are a textbook case of The Peter Principle. Many American workers experience the Mismatched Manager boss - one who micromanages when you don't need it, doesn't communicate when you do need it, is a Type A manager when you are a Type C employee, and doesn't like you just because you look different.

If you are really lucky in your life, you will actually work with that unique Best Boss person who not only shapes your work ethic, but shapes your whole life and career. The Best Boss becomes a friend for life; a person whom you stay in contact with even after you no longer work together; a person that you always talk about to others; a person that you want to be just like when you are a boss.
