Thursday, September 29 marks National Coffee Day and there are some retailers giving away a free cup of joe to honor the day. Here's where you can satisfy your coffee craving for free on 9/29.

7-Eleven: Free Coffee times

Stop by a participating 7-Eleven store and get a free medium cup of their coffee between the hours of 7 AM and 11 AM in your time zone only. This free coffee offer is limited to hot coffee only, no iced varieties are included. One per customer. According to 7-Eleven's website, this offer is open to participating stores in the U.S. and Canada, except for Quebec.

Krispy Kreme: Free Coffee at Drive Thru too

Krispy Kreme is offering their customers a free 12 oz cup of their House Blend on 9/29 to honor National Coffee Day. Their press release states that there is no additional purchase necessary, though I'm betting that they're hoping you'll want one of their delicious doughnuts to accompany your hot, free brew. Krispy Kreme's free coffee offer is available to walk in or drive through customers in the U.S. or Canada, but it limited to one per customer.

Caribou: Buy One, Get One for National Coffee Day

Caribou is celebrating National Coffee Day with a buy one, get one free offer. In a customer email, Caribou outlines their promotion. Buy two coffees and get one free (the free one must be equal or lesser value and you'll need to print the email or show it on your mobile device to cash in on this freebie offer that is good on 9/29 only.

Thornton's: Free Coffee or Hot Chocolate

Do you have a Thornton's convenience store near you? They're offering free coffee for National Coffee Day as well, only they are also offering customers the option of a free hot chocolate or cappuccino from 6 AM to 2 PM on September 29th.

It reminds of the woman who worked very hard to get Sherlock Holmes on the radio back around 1930. After being turned down numerous places, she went to a coffee company pointing out that he consumed a great quantity of it while solving his cases. That appealed to them and that's how one of radio's most successful programs got on the air!

Anywhere that there is free coffee is sounds good to me.
