National Poetry Month- Earth Day Poem

Poem About Being Green

Laura Ewers
On April 22nd every year
We need to remember why we are here
Its not to pollute and destroy our land
Its to come together hand in hand
To clean up our towns
Of the garbage mounds
To recycle and reduce
To remove our toxic noose
We need to remember everyday
To be green in everyway
To plant trees, and have clean air
For us all to breathe, isn't that fair
We don't want our children growing up in a slump
So be careful and mindful of what you dump
If we don't all take action, where will we be
This will be one ugly place when there are no trees
So I ask on this earth day, that we take a few moments
to clean up our act, since
Everyone is affected
its time we protect it.
