What Irks Me (about workplaces in general)
When people act like their time is more valuable than mine.
When people schedule meetings, then forget to attend.
When people act like I'm too young to make a relevant contribution.
When people force their advice upon me when I hadn't (and wouldn't have) asked.
When people are unkind because they're "too busy" to care.
When good people lose their jobs because others did theirs wrong.
When the work day should be over by now yet never seems to end.
What Enlightens Me (at my current job)
When I create a training/content design and the client/audience loves it.
When I solve a complex problem that would've left other people scratching their heads.
When I learn a new technique or practice (especially if I can teach it to someone else).
When I enjoy the rush in the moment of sending out a final product.
When I see team members valuing the expertise of the individuals in a group.
When I am encouraged to continue learning and to take on more responsibility (especially when the company pays for it)!
When I can look back and be proud of my work, knowing I completed it with integrity and heart.

Even though not many of us do the kind of work you do, I think most of us can relate to the basic concepts of behavior in the workplace. For most people, the rewards are largely internal...knowing you've done a great job.
