Benjamin Franklin Gates (Nicholas Cage) is back looking for treasure while at the same time clearing the name of a great, great grandfather that has been besmirched by a burnt piece of diary page. National Treasure: Book of Secrets.

National Treasure franchise will do for history what Harry Potter did for reading. It has the ability to make children interested in history because of the PG rating and the excitement it delivers about history itself. I love history and find the movies exciting because of what I learn that I did not know about the bits and pieces they drop during the course of the story.

The team is back. There's Nicholas Cage, Diane Kruger, Justin Bartha and Jon Voight. It's interesting the amount of awesome chemistry four actors can have, but they all have it. Watching them they make it seem so natural and that the characters are real as real can be. New comer Helen Mirren, who plays Emily Appleton Ben's mother, is pretty darn funny. Her interaction with Voight is funny in a grumpy old men kind of way.

The story line for National Treasure: Book of Secrets is interesting. It clocks in at over 2 hours, but while watching it the length of time was not felt. The movie spans across the pound to England and France, then back to America. It's not only great for the reality of the film to see the actual places but it's cinematically awesome to see the scenery that is not often shown in movies, such as the other Statue of Liberty in Paris. My friend did not see that when she went to Paris. It's right there next to the Eiffel Tower. GOSH.

National Treasure: Book of Secrets is just a fun movie to watch. Just like the first one, National Treasure. If you did not like the first one it is safe to say you will not like the second one. There's not a lot to say about this movie outside of the fact that the cast looked like they had a lot of fun as well as had chemistry. There's bits of history sprinkled within the film making it all the more fun for those that love history. It makes me smile to see that they are showing how history can be fun and, for that matter, should be.
