Many Native American cultures base their zodiac on animals. These animals help guide and teach life lessons to the younger generations of Native Americans. Native American astrology is a group of systems , traditions and beliefs. There are twelve animals to represent the zodiac.

March 21-April 19
Hawk
The Hawk is a messenger of insight, adaptability and openness. Hawk people tend to be leaders. They may be impulsive from time to time. They want to establish individuality while still trying to be accepted by the group.

April 20-May 20
Beaver
Beavers are planners. Regardless of obstacles, they tend to fulfill their dreams because of their determination. They have unlimited patience.

May 21-June 20
Deer
The Deer is peaceful, gentle, sensitive . Deer people are cherished by everyone they know.

June 21-July 22
Woodpecker
Woodpeckers are nurturing, devoted and emotionally connected to others. Their goal in life is to live in harmony with others.

July 23-August 22
Salmon
Nothing can hold back the Salmon. Salmon people are determined and the most generous of all .

August 23-September 22
Bear
In many tribes, Bears are recognized as the head of the animals due to their strong and steadfast nature. People born under this animal will defend those they care about.

September 23-October 23
Raven
Raven people are fair, energetic, diplomatic, charming and ingenious. They tend to be indecisive because they want everyone to be happy.

October 24-November 21
Snake
Snake people can be intense and sometimes secretive. They are creative, wise and thrive on praise. They require great self-discipline and will power to control their harsh sides.

November 22-December 21
Owl
Owl people are admired for their adventurous, freedom loving spirits. In most tribes, owls are thought to have mystical powers because of their night vision. It lets them see what others can't see. Owls are wise and honest.

December 22-January 19
Goose
Goose people are hard working, loyal and determined. They are funny and supportive. Others can always rely on you.

January 20-February 18
Otter
Otter people tend to stand out in a crowd. They have amazing imaginations and are very playful. They seek the truth above all else.

February 19-March 20
Wolf
Wolf people are gentle, highly psychic and perceptive. They are shy around people until they get to know them. They are artistic and creative, passionate and private. They crave freedom, yet their ultimate goal in life is to find love and keep it.
