Natural Beauty-Anti-Aging Properties of Bananas and Honey

Natural Beauty Products Keep Skin Looking Younger

Lisa Musser
Bananas are rich in potassium and are so good for you. Not only for the body but they have anti-aging properties that keep your skin looking younger as well. Bananas are a natural source of Iron, Folic Acid, Niacin, Riboflavin and Vitamins A, B and C. Not only are they healthy for your body but they are great for the face. The mashed pulp of the banana mixed with honey makes a rejuvenating mask that makes the skin smoother and erases wrinkles. Honey is a natural moisturizer and is full of vitamins that are good for hair and skin.

Health facts about bananas:

Bananas help lower cholesterol

A good source of B6 and B12 vitamins

High in potassium and magnesium

The natural sugar in the banana helps regulate blood pressure

Banana and Honey anti-aging mask:

Mash one ripe banana and add a tablespoon of honey. Mix the two items well and let sit until the banana mixture turns brown. The brown color of the banana means that the sugar content is released. The reason the banana turns brown is that it is oxidizing and starts turning to sugar.

Wash the face wish a gentle cleanser or soap and pat dry. Pull the hair back away from the face and spread the mixture with the fingers all over the face. Be sure to include the under eye area as well. Pack it on thick and wipe off any areas that run. Now go relax for about 10 minutes, read the paper or make a cup of coffee. The mixture is ready to wash off when the skin begins to feel tight, this means the mix is starting to dry.

Wash off with warm water and finish with a cool rinse. Good when used after a facial scrub or as part of a weekly skincare program. This mask can be used often, as it does not aggravate the skin. Use this mask up to three times a week for maximum anti-aging benefits.

Keep skin looking smooth and wrinkle free by eating a healthy diet rich in antioxidants like bananas, strawberries, apples, tomatoes, cucumbers and avocados. Eat plenty of whole grains, fruits and vegetables and get enough protein. Protein is the building blocks of good hair and skin. If your diet is lacking nutrients, the first place it will show up is on your skin. Dry skin, a sallow complexion and dark circles are all an indication of a poor diet.

Aside from the fact that I'd prefer to EAT the mask, this sounds like a combatant for aging skin. We all WILL have this problem!
