One of the most versatile cleaners you can find in your kitchen cabinet is baking soda. It can be used as a scrubbing cleaner and also as a natural deodorizer. If you use it to clean your counter tops, use either to scour them spotless or on a damp sponge for a more gentle clean. If your kitchen sink is slow to drain, use equal amounts of vinegar and baking soda to clean out the clog.
Club soda is another wonderful cleaner that can be found in most kitchens. Use it to get the stains out of cloth napkins or dish towels. Soak them in the club soda before washing to get them fresh and clean. You never want to use anything to scratch a stainless steel sink or utensil. Club soda will clean them naturally, without leaving any abrasions on the shiny surface.
Another natural scouring agent is salt. It can also absorb odors from your hands, such as garlic or fish. Just rub a bit of salt on your hands and they will be much more fresh smelling. If you have any spills in the oven, sprinkle salt on them while they are still warm. Once they cool down a bit, you can wipe them away. Add a bit of vinegar and you have a natural cleaner for your copper pots and pans.
Lemon juice makes a wonderful cleaner. It also leaves a wonderful scent behind and your kitchen will smell natural fresh and clean. Add salt to a lemon wedge and you have a natural scrubber for your sink. Lemon juice will get fish or onion odors off of your hands in no time. Even if you have already used the lemon wedge to clean, you can still use it to clean the blades of your garbage disposal. Just grind it up and the blades will be clean and fresh smelling from this natural cleaner.
To clean aluminum pans mix cream of tartar and boiling water. This natural cleaner will get stubborn stains out of aluminum. Copper pans can be cleaned with vinegar, or ketchup if you don't have vinegar. After using the ketchup or vinegar, be sure to was them with any ordinary dishwashing liquid to keep them from tarnishing.
There are many ways to get your home clean naturally. Harsh chemical do not need to be used. And, using natural cleaners is better for your family and the environment, as well.
