With advances in technology come so many other areas for individuals to harbor stress. Stress from social marketing where you face daily input and debates on comments and making status updates, Stress from Cell phones, texting, emails. This coupled with the routine stresses of work, home and family life can compound into one huge source of mental exhaustion and physical pain such has headaches, upper body stress.
Stress can also wreak havoc on the immune system. When you are overwhelmed your natural defenses to fight illness weaken. For example, I was working with a student who had to rise every morning at 4am to travel a long distance to school. She then worked until 10pm at night. The hustle and bustle of her life left her vulnerable and she had 7 upper respiratory infections in duration of 5 months. She was caught up in a whirlwind cycle of taking antibiotics and pain killers to function.

Stress can occur and manifest symptoms on many levels. There are natural vitamins, herbs and supplements that can be used to naturally strengthen your immune system, and increase energy and vitality.
Vitamin B Complex ( sublingual form) - B complex vitamins buffer the nervous system and help the body deal with times of increased shock and protecting the nervous system from the intensity of day to day stress.
Royal Jelly- naturally helps elevate energy levels and you feel an increase in stamina. Royal Jelly is another rich source of B vitamins.
Calcium Carbonate- taken at night time, Calcium carbonate buffers and alkalizes the blood helping you to feel more relaxed. The Alkalizing process helps you feel less inflammation which can reduce the tendency for feeling sharp nerve pain in relation to stress.
Passionflower extract- Passion flower taken in the extract form can during the day help you feel more relaxed with enhanced ability to focus. At night it can help you to feel better rested even when having to sleep less than 8 hours; those taking Passionflower feel better when taking at bedtime.
When taking during the daytime, take ½ of the recommended dosage on product label. At night start with the lowest dosage. Do not take in combination with prescription relaxants or sleeping pills.
Many people have found sleep relief with Passion flower and have been able to step down and virtually eliminate prescriptions for sleeping medications.
Noni Juice - Noni is a natural anti inflammatory. The effects often mimic taking an Ibuprofen pain reliever without the toxicity and risk of taking pain medication. Drinking 2-4 ounces of Noni per day can reduce inflammation and pain in the body. It can help reduce symptoms of nerve and joint pain as well as pain related to tension and migraines.

Yerba Mate- is best taken as a tea and is now sold as a bottled beverage in most health food stores. It is a plant that is rich in natural B vitamins; it also has uses in increasing energy and applications in helping with appetite control and metabolism in relation to weight loss.

Bach Rescue Remedy (Pastille or Sublingual Drops) is comprised of natural flower essences. Safe for adults, children, and pets. It can be taken in a drop or lozenge form. The liquid can also be rubbed don pulse points as well. This formulation works well for anxiety and stress. As a side note, I give a dose to my children before taking them to a place in which they would naturally be nervous. For example, my daughter is nervous and stressed going to the doctor for an exam. When I give her a dose of Rescue Remedy before an appointment she is calmer and less upset. When I am stressed from driving in traffic, I keep the Rescue Remedy Pastilles in my glove box. I will let one slowly dissolve in my mouth while I am driving. I feel more zen afterwards.

With different sources of stress coming at us in life from one or multiple directions at a time, natural health can provide some safe solutions to work holistically with our bodies to buffer and handle stress.
By preparing our bodies to handle daily stress ahead of time, we can strengthen our energy levels, increase our focus as well as lessen our resistance to illness by treating stress at the root level by keeping our immune systems healthy with proper nutrition and supplementation.
