Natural Energy Boosts Vs. Energy Drink from Store

Natural Homemade Energy Boost Recipes

Sandra M.
There are different recipe for homemade energy drinks. You can mix many ingredients to create a taste that is more satisfying and would provide the energy that you need, but it will never give you the same taste as you can find in an energy drinks. The common ingredients in a store bought energy drinks are Caffeine, Guarana, Taurine, Amino Acids, Vitamin B, some minerals and sometimes alcohol. Most of them are loaded with sugar, sodium, extracts that are not very good for you. Yes, it gives you energy boost but you can crash fast. However, if you try to make your own drink from fresh and natural ingredients it will help you to not only boost up your energy, but to make your immune system stronger and it can be very helpful in a long run. I think that homemade energy drinks are getting popular. People will find the best alternative for meeting their energy needs in whatever activity they are doing. Although it might cost you a bit more to get everything but overall you will really see benefit from it.

What you will need to make your own energy boost:

If you are coffee lover, you can try this easy recipe that will boost up your energy, so instead of your ordinary morning cup of Joe you can make this in the morning.

Coffee n' Banana Morning Shake
1/4 cup of skim milk/ or 2% low fat
1/2 scoop of fat free chocolate ice cream
1/4 cup espresso, or whatever coffee that you use just needs to be stronger
1/2 banana
1 cup crushed ice
Whipped cream
A pinch of nutmeg
A pinch of cinnamon-optional
You will have great homemade energy drink.

-My second choice for the energy boost is actually smoothie; I believe that they are much more refreshing and nutritional then regular milk shakes. You can add fruit and veggies and you have beautiful drink that will give you full support energy wise, and will also help you cleanse your system and get you on a right track.
An excellent, basic energy smoothie recipe for two servings:
2 cups soymilk OR Almond milk will go great with this recipe as well.
2 cup of strawberries.
1 Banana
2 tsp. Hemp powder (high in protein and omega 3, 6, 9 fatty acids.)
1 cup of Kale greens
1 cup of ice
Put the liquid in your blender. Add the strawberries gradually, and then the rest of the ingredients.

Facts:
Strawberries are low fat, low calorie; high in vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, potassium. Strawberries, as part of a 5 a day fruit & vegetable program; can help reduce the risk of cancer & heart attacks.
Kale is highly nutritious vegetable with powerful antioxidant properties; Kale considers being anti -inflammatory. It is very high in beta-carotene, vitamins K and C, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and reasonably rich in Calcium.
Soy milk is a healthy balance of high-quality protein and carbohydrates, low in fat with no cholesterol and very low in saturated fat
OR
Almond milk is rich in Vitamin E, great antioxidant, and it is good for those undergoing detoxification programs. Almond milk contains high levels of unsaturated fat. Also has been associated to lower risk of heart attack. It contains little, to no saturated fat and no cholesterol, making it extremely good for those suffering from high cholesterol. One more thing, Almond milk does not contain lactose. This makes it easily digestible and the perfect alternative for those suffering from lactose-intolerance.

You cannot go wrong combining berries in a smoothie, so my third choice for the great energy boost would be
Berry Blast Smoothie
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 blackberries
1-cup low-fat yogurt (some type of berry yogurt would be best, but plain is fine too)
1/4 cup low-fat milk or 1/2 cup fat-free milk
2 cups of crushed ice

While this smoothie is heavy on berries does not lack of great flavor. I have not tried it with Acai Berries, but it could be great. You can maybe incorporate Acai berry juice into whole blend and Blend until smooth. You have here some of my favorite recipes for natural energy boosts.

I will see you soon and stay energetic for me in a natural way!
