We hear much advertising about foods that detoxify the body. With all the worries about chemical causing agents in our foods and their effect on the body, it is good to learn all we can about foods that naturally detoxify our bodies.

Broccoli

Broccoli is naturally low in fat and a great choice for those watching their weight. Broccoli also contains Psyllium, which aids in releasing enzymes responsible for fighting cancer-causing properties in our bodies. Broccoli is an excellent source of fiber, is a heart-healthy food and helps reduce harmful cholesterol levels in our bodies.

Garlic

People have been touting the qualities of garlic for centuries. Garlic produces enzymes responsible for flushing out toxins from the liver. Garlic can also aid in ridding the body of excess fluids, aiding in weight loss. Garlic is loved for its versatility and tastes good as an ingredient in soups, salads and many other food combinations.

Lemon

Lemons help the body reduce toxins into components which can be carried out of the body along with excess fluids. Lemons are also a well-known appetite suppressent and go well in our favorite tea or even added to water.

Sesame Seeds

Herbs

In addition to garlic, several herbs are well known for their detoxifying effect upon the body including red clover, dandelion, cayenne pepper, parsley and ginger. Try to incorporate more natural herbs into your cooking. The benefits received from these herbs include cleansing of the blood, improved circulation and flushing the kidneys which helps rid the body of dangerous toxins.
