Natural Foot Care Remedies

It is difficult to argue that the hardest working part of our bodies is our feet. Unless you bedridden or bound to a wheelchair, your feet take the brunt of the day's activities. You walk on them, run on them, force your weight on them one at a time, kick, scratch, bend, flex. They are always at work. If you are a woman, chances are, because of footwear choices, your feet are taking more strain than they deserve, which complicates the fact that it is usually women who take the best care of their feet and want them looking their best and feeling smooth and uncalloused.

There are a million products on the market today to care for your feet, however these products and methods are not always the best. They can contain strange chemicals and other unnecessary ingredients to which you do not want to subject your body. For that reason, I have gathered some simple and easy ways to care for your feet all naturally.

The best thing to do in caring for your feet for overall general health is regular massage. There are many techniques, but the great thing with foot massage is that a strict technique is not always needed. If you have a partner to provide you with foot massages, all the better, but even if not, it is something you can do yourself quite effectively. A dry massage using the hands, squeezing and kneading the feet, toes, and sole is one of the best ways to make sure your circulation is flowing smoothly.

Even better than the dry massage is an oil massage. Some great ideas for oil are either sesame or mustard oil in the winter (this can be slightly warmed) and coconut oil in the summer, which provides a very pleasant cooling effect.

A simple warm salt soak can also provide wonders. Soaking your feet for only 15 minutes each night in a warm bath of either sea or Epsom salts will soften your skin and provide relief from tension. This is perhaps the easiest and effortless natural foot remedy in existence.

Another good soak, if you want to take the salt bath a step further is provided by http://beauty.iloveindia.com . This traditional Indian bath is prepared with 1 cup lemon juice, a dash of cinnamon, 2 Tablespoons olive oil, ΒΌ cup milk, and warm water. Prepare the warm water for your foot bath, add the ingredients, and mix. This soak will provide you with a little extra power in clearing off dry and dead skin with the lemon juice and extra smoothness with the milk and olive oil. If you don't care for the smell of the cinnamon, it can be replaced with flower petals.

Easy, natural ways to care for your feet are encompassed in basic techniques and recommendations. Keep your feet dry and wear cotton socks instead of synthetic materials. Avoid tight, closed shoes. Use a natural talc powder if you expect a lot of moisture.

If you have a foot fungus, such as athlete's foot, there are also natural remedies to take care of it. The best of which is an application of tea tree oil. This may be mixed with other natural oils, since it can be expensive, but it should not be composed of less than 50% tea tree oil.

These few simple and all natural techniques will provide you with healthy and smooth feet. Take care of the hardest working part of your body.
