And if you are blond or light colored hair, you can pour cooled chamomile tea or beer into your hair and let it soak in. I think it not only dyes your hair but these natural colors probably improve your hairs condition as well.
Other natural fixes include putting mayonnaise into your hair and letting it sit like a mask to moisturize it. This restores the oils that is stripped out with frequent washing. Also wash out with shampoo as normal. Also try not to wash your hair every day, rather put it in a shower cap while you bathe to prevent excessive drying of your hair.
Also, I like to let my hair air dry to prevent a lot of damage from heat. And I have gotten a lot of compliments on my hair. It is long and dark brown and I don't highlight it either. I think a little styling gel won't hurt but constantly spraying with hair spray and goop can't be good for it. It makes it more prone to breakage and split ends.
I like to keep my hair as natural as possible although I have used some styling wax a little here and there. Styling isn't bad, but I think it looks fine without too much goop and its pretty healthy. Also if you have a vitamin B deficiency, it could cause dandruff. So make sure to take a B complex everyday. I like my long dark hair and keep it cut in layers to allow more volume. My hair is pretty thick and I use volumizing shampoo because it is pretty fine in texture. I don't use any particular shampoo, rather I mix it up and use different brands and it seems to work great. I tried some really expensive dandruff shampoo once, but the Head and Shoulders Volumizing shampoo works the best to help control flakes.
I add a little something called root boost by Cat walk to the roots of my fore head to add volume at the top and that's about it. It doesn't seem to break too much and I feel good that I get compliments on my hair. I think less is more in hair care.
