Natural Healing Through Foods

Tyson Burke
There are many people in the world, not even just the country that believe that you can be healed to a certain extent by eating certain foods or adding certain foods to your diet. There are also people that believe food like junk food and fried foods can cause diseases and other ailments in your body. For the most part, I'm one of those people. And these are some of the few things I have learned over the years that help certain ailments. Have it be Anxiety, Stress, Fatigue, Upset Stomach, Insomnia etc. Instead of popping pills, or taking this medicine or that medicine (medicines that aren't good for your body to begin with), why not try something safer? Below are some of the VERY few ailments plus the foods that naturally cure them. To find other ones search for a book called "Natural Cures" at your local library or Amazon.

Migraines - Fatty fish such as trout, sardines, and herring. You can also try Omega 3 Capsules or Fish Oil, since this is the reasoning behind eating fatty fish to begin with. The Omega 3 in fatty fish can cause hormone-like chemicals to induce inflammation and pain that causes migraines. Avoid things like processed meats, artificial sweeteners, red wine, chocolate, and citrus.

Heartburn - Fresh ginger has been known to help stomach acids from rising into your esophagus, which causes the burning sensation. Since the ginger is so intense, grate it and add to one cup of hot water, steep for 8 minutes and drink. Avoid foods like butter and red meat, spicy foods can also cause heartburn.

Joint Pain - Vitamin C has been known to be a joint strengthener for years. Things like Orange Juice, Blueberries, Raspberries, Cantaloupe, Oranges and Strawberries can help make your joints stronger and can also slow arthritis from forming.

Indigestion - Papaya is one of the best things I know of to help aid in indigestion. Fresh papaya can be taken but its also helpful if you buy Papaya Enzymes from your local health food store. If you have tried this before and it didn't work for you, another thing you can try is Baking Soda. I swear it really does work. Take 1/4cup warm water, 1-2t of Baking Soda, stir it around until the water becomes clear and with in minutes you will feel so much better. So Baking soda isn't a food, but this will help you out if you have chronic indigestion.

Anxiety & Stress - go figure, this is the one time that low-fat carbs actually are good for you to eat! Things such as low fat popcorn, honey, graham crackers, and whole wheat pretzels are recommended to people who have anxiety or stress. Carbs can increase serotonin in the brain, which helps you relax. Stay away from Caffeine!

Irritability - Chocolate has been known to contain the amino acid L-tryptophan which can boost the production of serotonin a brain chemical that regulates our moods. This doesn't mean you have to eat an entire box of chocolates! Researchers say that 4 Hershey kisses will do the trick.
