Natural, Home Remedies for Common Problems

Cee Belair
Many people today are looking more and more into home remedies and natural things to keep their life healthier and more frugal.

Here are some home remedies you can try for common, everyday problems. I do have to throw in that I'm not a doctor, so use these at your own risk! I have tried quite a few, though.

Bladder Infection:

Take a bag of fresh or frozen cranberries and boil them in water. Cool them off and drink. Do not add sugar! This can also help with kidney infections. I've tried regular cranberry juice, which has worked well also.

Bags under your eyes:

Mix 1-teaspoon tomato juice, ½ teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch of turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon of flour to form a paste. Apply around your eyes and leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off.

Sliced cucumbers and ice packs can also work well, just don't leave ice directly on your skin.

Mosquito and bug bites:

Apply lime juice that's been diluted with water onto a cotton ball and press onto your bug bites. You can also reduce the pain and swelling by using baking soda and water, vinegar, honey or aspirin.

Bad Breath:

You can check out my article here: www.associatedcontent.com/article/190691/how_to_banish_bad_breath.html

Other things you can do is eat some parsley, it has something in it that will kill the bacteria in your mouth.

Zits:

Dab a small amount of toothpaste on your pimples before going to sleep at night, it will dry them out.

Try rubbing your pimples with garlic several times a day, they'll disappear!

Gum in hair:

Soak the offending gum in Coca-Cola and it should come right out!

Heartburn:

Heartburn is the acid in your stomach moving up to your esophagus, so you don't want to lie down if you're suffering from heartburn. Instead, try a bowl of rice pudding made with milk. This will absorb the stomach acid. Stay away from coffee and chocolate!

Chapped Lips and Dry Skin:

Nothing works better than plain old petroleum jelly. I've used this one for years, and will never use anything else! Just apply liberally, ideally at night so it doesn't interfere with anything you might be doing during the day. Your dry skin will get better within a day.

You don't have to break the bank to purchase expensive over-the-counter medications for your various needs. You probably already have everything you need at home!

If you do have continued problems, make sure you consult your doctor. These might not be for everyone. It's always wise to consult with your doctor before trying anything new.
