Natural Homemade Lip Balm Recipes

Want soft, luscious lips? Be irresistibly kissable with your own homemade lip balm. Below is a list of lip balm recipes with various ingredients, all of which are totally natural. Know exactly what your putting on your lips and know they're getting the best care and moisture possible. From basic recipes to more complex ones there's something suited to everyone. You may have to buy the ingredients but in the long run you'll save on the cost of your lip care. You can add colouring and/or flavouring to any of these recipes to personalize them. Adding favouring in the form of essential oils also adds extra lip-care qualities =)

Basic Lip Balm
1/2 ounce beeswax beads
4 ounce sweet almond oil
1 teaspoon jojoba beads
Put the sweet almond oil in mixing bowl and add beeswax beads and jojoba beads.
Heat in the microwave until melted and stir.

Aloe Vera Lip Balm
1 tsp. aloe vera gel
1/2 tsp. coconut oil
1 tsp. petroleum jelly
Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave to heat for 2 minutes then stir.

Honey & Almond Lip Balm
8 oz. sweet almond oil
1.5-2.5 oz. beeswax
1 t. honey
Mix the almond oil and beeswax in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave until melted and stir.
Mix in the honey.

Cocoa Butter Lip Balm
2.5 oz. cocoa butter
2.6 oz. beeswax
1.4 oz. sweet almond oil
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave until melted and stir.

Flavored Lip Balm
2 tsp. beeswax
7-8 tsp. sweet almond oil OR jojoba oil
1 tsp. honey
5 drops flavoring (of your choice)
Mix the oil and beeswax in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave until melted.
Add the honey and mix well.
Add the flavouring and mix again.

Cocoa Mint Lip Balm
1.5 oz. cocoa butter
1 oz. beeswax
1.5 oz. shea butter
3-5 drops peppermint essential oil (optional)
Mix the cocoa butter, shea butter and beeswax in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave until melted and stir.
Add the peppermint oil and mix.

Tea Tree Softening Lip Balm
0.3 oz beeswax
0.45 oz sweet almond oil
0.45 oz cocoa butter
0.05 oz lanolin
10-15 drops Vitamin E oil
10-15 drops Tea Tree oil
Mix the beeswax and cocoa butter in a bowl.
Heat in the microwave until melted and stir.
Mix in the other ingredients.
Heat in microwave again until melted and stir well.
