There are actually three types of warts: 1. Common, 2. Flat, and 3. Plantar. If you look at a common wart closely, you'll see that it resembles a head of cauliflower. You'll see black specks inside the head. These are blood vessels that feed the wart. Common warts are mostly found on your hands.
Flat warts aren't as big as common ones. They don't extend upward as common warts, and they tend to pop up in groups. Flat warts tend to appear on places of your body that are irritated, such as on shaved legs, for example.
Plantar warts only grow on the soles of your feet. They resemble common warts, except they are also flat. Walking on plantar warts keeps them flat and low.
One of the best, natural homemade remedies for warts involves the use of duct tape. Duct tape, which has a thousand and one uses, has now been shown to effectively eradicate warts.
To use duct tape to get rid of a wart, cut a piece of it that will completely cover the growth. Place the tape firmly onto the skin and allow it to stay there for six days. If the duct tape falls off in the meantime, cut another piece and reapply it.
On the seventh day, before you go to bed, carefully remove the duct tape and soak the wart in water. Use an emery board to gently remove the dead skin. Then, dry the affected area and apply another piece of duct tape.
Then, in the morning, remove the existing piece of tape and reapply a new piece to the wart. Repeat these steps until the wart is completely gone.
Another natural homemade remedy for warts is to use a banana peel. Before you go to bed, cut a piece of the peel to fit completely over the growth. Then, place the piece over the wart -pulp side down- and hold it into place with gauze and medical tape.
In the morning, remove the medical tape, gauze, and the banana peel. Repeat this process for several nights until the wart is completely gone. When you notice dead skin tissue on the wart, use an emery board to gently remove it.
You can also use grapefruit seed extract. This extract can be found at your local healthfood store. Grapefruit seed extract is a natural antiseptic that can kill the wart and its virus in its tracks.
To use this extract, place a couple drops directly on the wart in the morning. Then, cover the wart with a bandage. Apply another couple drops of grapefruit seed extract to the wart in the evening before bedtime. Put on a clean bandage.
Repeat this process until the wart is completely gone.
Vitamin A is yet another homemade remedy you can use on warts. Just crush a Vitamin A capsule and add a couple drops of water to it. Mix the powder and water to make a paste. Use a cotton swab to apply the vitamin paste onto the wart. Cover the affected area with a bandage. Repeat this process- washing off the old paste before you apply new- until the wart is completely gone.
