Natural Insecticides: An Overview

Keith Dailey
Although there are various versions and various benefits, natural insecticides all stem from the same main ingredient. Before using natural insecticides, it is important to know the situation at hand. Know how huge the insect infestation has become. Know what chemicals you may be allergic to (as well as your plants, pets, and livestock, if any). Know how many methods of removal or control you may need. And know how much it will cost you.

In order to get the most out of natural insecticides, you will need to know exactly what works best with the kind of insect you are trying to get rid of or control. Mixing natural insecticides may be hazardous, so be very cautious of what you substances you choose to combine.

The best thing about natural insecticides is that it stems from pure nature. However, this doesn't mean that they do not come with their own set of problems. But it does mean that you will be helping the environment by purchasing products that have come about through recycling. Plus, it is less harmful in every way.

Liquid garlic is a prime example of this. Garlic is a natural plant grown from the earth, but it can also be used as an insect repellent on farm and garden plants. Boric acid is another example. Boric acid is a weak crystalline white acid with boron that stems from the earth's minerals.

Within the past few years, more and more people have opted to use natural insecticides to keep their crops free of insects. Natural insecticides have been around for ages, but people have only recently discovered their effectiveness and their benefits. Some people are simply too impatient to learn how to use natural insecticides properly. However, just like with everything else in the world, you need to try using them first before deciding whether you like them or not.

Using these things that the earth already readily provides, the entire world will benefit, and that includes each and every other life form. Although it may take a bit longer to solve your problems with insects through natural insecticide, it should still be your number one choice. As it is, our beloved earth already goes through a lot of abuse by its inhabitants and because of this, all creatures and plants suffer with it. Since humans already take away things from the earth, we can at least make up for it through the use of natural insecticides.
