Natural Landscaping on a Budget

Cheap and natural looking landscaping for a home in the country can be difficult if you are not sure where to begin. A home in its natural surrounding or nestled in the woods would look silly with a perfectly manicured lawn and without a single plant out of place. But everyone wants a great looking lawn no matter where they live. So how do you integrate a nice landscape with the natural beauty of the surrounding land with just a little bit of money?

The first step in creating a natural looking landscape on a budget is to look around at the natural beauty that is already there. Take a walk in the woods to see what kind of natural resources and ideas you can borrow. If you own wooded property most of your landscaping needs will be free. There are so many things that grow naturally in the woods that can be used to landscape your lawn for cheap.

Things you will find in the woods that make great landscaping materials are free, well if you own the property. There are rocks that make great landscaping decorations. The ones covered in moss are even better and will thrive in a shady area. Stones that are found in the woods can also be used to create paths and walkways, flower garden walls or even stone pillar and table bases.

Ferns are another great shade plant are very plentiful in the woods. There are at least five different types of ferns that grow in the woods behind my house. Each one is beautiful in its own way. Some a lacy and frilly while others have a heavier leaf. Each will add depth to a garden.

Trees and sapling can be transplanted from the woods into your yard or garden. Check into the type of tree that it is before transplanting to make sure it does not need any special accommodations when planted. Some trees need to be in a more shady area. Other trees may need to be planted away from a septic system or water supply because of their growing roots. Most importantly you will need to make sure they are planted with adequate room to grow.

When using nature for ideas for landscaping the ideas are truly endless. You may find some beautiful flowers that are actually some sort of weed but would make a great addition to your natural landscaping ideas. The more things you can borrow from nature the more natural your landscaping will look.
