Natural Protection Rituals for Your Home

Peace of Mind and Protection from Supernatural Break-ins and Other Negative Forces

I am writing this article to share some rituals for protecting your home that I have learned and applied throughout the years. Since I was very young I've seen things that most won't acknowledge, or can't see. Sometimes these influences are playful and fleeting. Other times, they're malicious and persistent. I don't like living so openly to either group to tell you the truth, and I've adapted some simple protection practices that help me keep those influences out of my home.

If you're not a believer in the spirit world, that's okay. Many people can appreciate the basic belief in simply eliminating negativity throughout their home to increase the positive influences flowing in their life. Read, Rhonda Burne's, "The Secret," to understand more about the impact that thinking positively can have on your life and future.

When I was a little girl, I would often sit in my Grandmother's flower garden talking to the flowers for hours. No one ever knew, but my Grandmother saw them too. In fact, she planted that garden to attract these delightful, fairy creatures just like you might put up a hummingbird feeder to catch a glimpse of this lightning fast bird every now and then. It was our secret and although at times it has been a gift, there is a side to my sight that I don't like because the interference can be quite a nuisance.

Even if you can't meet me with a suspension of disbelief over my musings in my Grandmother's garden at age six, I'm sure you can appreciate that there are some people who can see things others can't. They see ghosts and shadows for some reason and there is a wide range of evidence that an active, spiritual world exists all around us. My Grandma knew I was one of these people and shared some practices with me to help with coping as I grew older. I have found them effective over the years and hope they might help another person struggling with the same interferences.

Let's keep this world out of our houses. To get started, you might want to consider purchasing some small, chunks of amethyst from a science or nature store. Prices range from inexpensive ($20) up to more pricey and improved gem quality ($300+). If you're really on a shoestring budget, you can even purchase some simple rough, stone amethyst necklaces.

These can be strategically placed and even worn for a very minimal cost. Amethyst is a stone that naturally exhibits a protective power. I like to place some of this on my bedside table and on my baby's dresser near his crib. It's also helpful to place near entrances to your home and in other rooms if you have additional children or housemates. Don't underestimate the power of such a simple treatment.

Once you've placed your amethyst in the best locations for your home, take some time to light incense (I prefer Frankincense) and walk through each room of your home, wafting the smoke around with one hand to spread the fragrance in the air. Relax as you do this and fill yourself full of happy and positive thoughts. You should feel empowered and strong as you confront any forces in your home. When you're done with your walkthrough, fill up your bathtub with a nice bubble bath. If you like, you can add some essential oils to enhance your state of relaxation and focus. Settle into the tub, and relax to a near meditative state. Picture yourself lying in the tub, while thinking about warm rays of sunshine shining down onto you. These rays overflow out of your body and spread to light up nearby objects in your bathroom. Slowly visualize the contents of each room of your house.

Allow the light to grow stronger and stretch out into the walls of your house, seeping eventually to the yard. Now, when you've got everything illuminated, visualize sealing the entire structure from top to bottom. This warm sunlight forms a protective barrier around your home and no one will penetrate it. You must believe in your ability to complete this task and take the time to visualize every inch of your home becoming saturated with the white-yellow glow as it cleanses and creates a seal from all forces. You may be surprised at how quickly three hours might pass while doing this ritual.

When you're done, drain the tub and get out. You should feel very relaxed and possibly a little sleepy. Now you can rest assured that you've taken measures to seal off your home and keep it private. If you continue to meet resistance after completing this practice, you may wish to seek an expert with more expertise on persistent influences. Sometimes it's a matter of believing in yourself and your ability to shield and this may take you a little more time to perfect, while other times you might be dealing with something a bit more challenging. I hope that you find these protection tips helpful. I've used this method for nearly 15 years with great success and would like to help another whenever possible.
