Natural Remedies for Dry, Itchy Scalp and Dandruff Problems

Whether it is hot and humid outside or cold and blustering, your hair and scalp can act up on its own. Drinking at least two liters of water daily and eating plenty of portions of vegetables and fruits can help healthy hair without any dandruff. Also, maintaining a diet rich in Vitamin E and Omega-3 fatty acids assist in keeping your scalp moisturized. Healthy foods such as almonds, sunflower seeds, blueberries and tomatoes are good sources of Vitamin E. Foods such as strawberries, flax seeds, dried oregano, broccoli, and halibut contain high amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids.

Here are also some all natural home remedies that can help chase your hair and scalp blues away. Use some mildly warm olive oil (about a one ounce equivalent portion) as a deep conditioner for your hair. Massage it thoroughly into your scalp and leave it in for at least half an hour or for as long as you can. Afterwards, rinse out the olive oil from your hair thoroughly (you might have to wash your hair twice to get the olive oil completely out. Also, apple cider vinegar can be used as a leave-in conditioner remedy. After you wash your hair, dilute two cups of apple cider vinegar with one cup of water and saturate your hair into the solution. Do not rinse out the formula. Aloe Vera juice can also used to moisturize your hair and scalp. Make sure to obtain the kind of Aloe Vera juice that does not contain any sugar. Apply one teaspoon of Aloe Vera juice to your scalp and leave it in.

Another natural dry scalp remedy is to massage some fresh plain yogurt into your scalp after you have washed your hair and allow the yogurt to sit in your hair for at least ten minutes before rinsing it out. For more serious dry scalp problem, add a whisked egg with the yogurt prior to application and allow the formula to sit in your hair a bit longer. Then thoroughly rinse the entire formula out your hair.

Massage your scalp and hair every time you do a hair wash. You can also use Lavender oil or Vitamin E oil to increase the blood circulation. Vitamin B oil is also very beneficial as it aids in the production of melanin which helps maintain and produce your hair's color pigment along with provide additional moisture for your scalp.
