Natural Remedies for Dry Skin

Dry skin normally occurs because of extreme conditions in weather (extreme hot/cold), harsh and abrasive soaps, skin problems such as eczema or psorasis, and/or not enough nutrients to the skin by oil producing glands. The problem could be any combination of this list.

There are quite a few natural home remedies for dry skin, most of these treatments involve massaging oils on the effected areas before bed. Specifically, olive, grapeseed, and almond oils for normally dry skin. For excessive or severe dry skin try castor or avocado oils. Other treatments suggest facials, which most doctors only recommend using once a week. One recipe calls for an egg yolk and honey, stirring well then apply the mixture to your face and let it set for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes wash off with warm water, this should leave your face feeling smooth and soft. Or you could just use honey, using the same process, apply to your face, wait 15 minutes, and then wash off with warm water. Another peculiar recipe calls for an egg yolk, and a teaspoon of each of the following: orange juice, lime juice, and rosewater. Same as all the other treatments, mix well, apply to your face, wait 15 minutes, and wash off with warm water. Lastly, take a ripe banana and mash into a paste, then apply to your face and let it harden on your face for about 15-20 minutes, wash off with warm water.

Another suggestion to help soothe your dry aching skin it to take a multivitamin that contains the nutrients A, B, and/or E. All of which will help to make your skin supple again.
