One of the best and most trustworthy natural remedies for kidney infection is cranberry. You will want to use an unsweetened, high quality cranberry juice from the health food store or cranberry tablets. The tablets have been proven to be a very effective natural remedy for kidney infection and are easy to use.
Another good natural remedy to try while enduring a kidney infection is flushing the system with lots of water. Many people suffering kidney infections avoid consuming fluids in order to avoid urinating, which can be painful. However, this is not a good idea; as water is needed to dilute and flush the body of the bacteria causing the infection. You also might try adding baking soda to the water, as the presence of baking soda in your system raises the acid-base balance of the acidic urine. This is probably one of the cheapest natural remedies for kidney infection.
Some things that you may find helpful to avoid while nursing a kidney infection are processed foods like cheese, chocolate, and dairy products; spicy foods; caffeine; alcohol; carbonated drinks; and artificial sweetener. This is not necessarily a natural remedy but a step of precaution.
To provide relief for the pain of the kidney infection, you may find it helpful to place a heating pad on the lower abdominal area. Also be sure to wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing, especially underwear.
Garlic and Echinachea are natural antibiotics that I rely on regularly to treat many ailments, including kidney infection. Tablets can be purchased inexpensively at your local health food store (or even WalMart). These are two awesome natural remedies to invest in for many common ailments and infections.
This is not an in-depth study of all of the herbs and homeopathic remedies that are effective for treating a serious kidney infection, but just a few cheap and simple natural remedies that may provide you with relief. Use your judgment and consult your healthcare provider as needed, but in the meantime it doesn't hurt to flush out some buggies with nature's terrific remedies like cranberry juice and pure water!
