Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint essential oil is a natural morning sickness remedy that can be used several different ways. Put a few drops in bowl of hot water near your bed and lie down for a rest, breathing in the fragrance and allowing aroma therapy to chase that morning sickness away. You can also use it in an aroma therapy diffuser. Take care to buy true essential oils and not simply peppermint scented fragrance. Most health food stores sell a variety of pure essential oils.
Ginger
Ginger is a well known natural morning sickness remedy and has been used for centuries in treating stomach upsets. Drinking a tea made with ginger, or ginger ale soda (check ingredients to be sure it's not an artificial flavored soda) are great ways of getting ginger into your system, but you will also find it in capsule form, tincture and even lollipops and lozenges made specifically for calming morning sickness.
Lemon
Many mothers swear by fresh lemons as a natural remedy for morning sickness. I relied on this myself but did not take it as far as some friends who kept fresh lemons on hand at all times. One way to enjoy fresh lemon juice during pregnancy is to squeeze the juice into a glass of water and add a little low calorie natural sweetener such as stevia or agave nectar to make fresh glass of lemonade. According to some the citric acid in the juice is the key to this remedy.
Acupuncture
According to a study cited by Henci Goer, a leading childbirth educator and natural birth advocate, acupuncture is successful in relieving morning sickness for some women. The point stimulated during the study was PC6, which is on the underside of the wrist.
Acupressure
If you aren't comfortable with acupuncture, you can apply pressure to the above mentioned pressure point using just your thumb to get relief from morning sickness. This pressure point is located three finger widths up your arm from your wrist.
