Never brush your hair when it's wet to avoid split ends
Hair is extremely fragile when it's wet. Brushing it when it wet will very likely cause it to break and do more damage than there has to be. At the same time, any styling tools that use heat also cause split ends, but for a lot of people the advantage to those is worth the split ends. If you use both a hair dryer, and a straightening iron or curling iron, try to drop the hair dryer and let your hair air dry if you have the time.
To protect your hair from split ends, try these mixtures:
A tablespoon of honey and two tablespoons of honey mixed in with some egg yolk will help your hair avoid split ends. Rub this mixture in your hair and let it sit for thirty minutes. After that thirty minutes is up wash the mixture out with shampoo.
Applying avocado oil to your hair should also help protect it from getting split ends. Simply apply the avocado oil to your head and hair, and leave it for thirty minutes before washing it out.
A papaya is another great tool to prevent split ends. Get a papaya, take off the skin, and take out the seeds. Put it in the blender until it's in liquid form and add some yogurt to it. Put this mixture in your hair for thirty minutes, then wash it out using shampoo.
Although they won't get rid of your current split ends, use products for treating split ends
Once your split ends are there, they're there and all you can do to get rid of them is cut them off. Using special shampoos won't make them go away, but it will prevent them from getting any worse.
Use conditioner when you wash your hair
A lot of people skip the conditioner when washing their hair even though it only takes a few minutes longer. This will keep your hair healthy and make it stronger, which will help prevent split ends.

Post a CommentGood advice here. My mind could not help but think about what it would be like to sit for some time with sticky honey or oily avacado oil on my hair though. It wouild be a challenge.
Bob, thanks for the natural hair care advice! I find just letting my hair air-dry without the hairdryer helps an awfully lot, as does using a good hair conditioner. (^;^)
