Natural Skin Care: Hydrating Face Spray Lotion Recipe
A Green, Eco-conscious Recipe for Natural, Hydrating Face Spray
This hydrating facial spray recipe has been adapted and modified from author Renee Loux's recipe for natural face spray from her book, Easy Green Living. It uses pure, refreshing water and delightful essential oils that will awaken your senses with refreshing aromatherapy while hydrating your face and leaving your skin glowing and radiant!
All-Natural, Eco-Friendly Hydrating Face Spray Recipe
1 cup mineral water
- The spray base!
10 drops of pure essential oils
- To awaken your senses!
0.5 teaspoons of vegetable glycerine
- An all-natural moisturizer
0.5 teaspoons of almond oil
- A soothing, hydrating oil
If you have oily, blemish-prone skin, try adding a teaspoon of natural witch hazel to tone your skin and shrink your pores.
You can use any essential oil that you'd like. I'd recommend choosing one that delights you the most. Favorites include citrus oils, or soothing oils such as lavender (perfect to calm your senses before bed) or chamomile (similarly soothing!).
Pour all the ingredients into a jar and shake vigorously until well blended. Once mixed, pour the concoction into a spray bottle.
To use this refreshing, natural hydrating facial spray, simply spritz your face and neck whenever your skin needs a little soothing, smoothing and hydrating.
How This Recipe Stacks Up To Commercial Facial Cleansers:
This all-natural facial spritz will awaken your skin and refresh it while also soothing and smoothing your face with natural moisturizers. Unlike other facial cleansers and moisturizers such as those from Olay, this facial spray hydrates without using chemicals.
However, this natural facial moisturizer recipe is lighter and less dense, meaning you may want to re-apply it more often than if you were to buy a commercial moisturizer. Think of it more in terms of a facial toner with hydrating properties rather than as a replacement to your facial lotion.
For those with oily skin, the variation of this face spritz recipe that includes the witch hazel toner is excellent for clearing away acne and blemishes! It naturally deep cleanse your pores and removes oil and dirt, while tightening your pores and making your skin smoother, cleaner and softer.
