Make sure your hair is clean and washed with no conditioners on it. This will help it achieve the best color. Also be sure to test whichever plant or plant dyes you may try. Test it for color on fallen strands of your hair and test on your arm for any allergic reaction.
Cassia (Cassia obovata)- If you have gray hair or blonde hair that needs new life Cassia can help you turn your hair blonde naturally or help you revive your already blonde hair. Cassia plant naturally colors hair by adding golden yellow tones to hair. If you are a brunette or red head sorry but cassia will not lighten your hair to blonde. But don't worry if you happen to have dark hair while it wont lighten your hair cassia is an excellent hair conditioning plant. To get the best out of cassias coloring properties mix it with something acidic like lemon or orange juice.
To achieve a strawberry blonde color add henna about 20% of henna to your mix of cassia.
Chamomile - Everyday Chamomile tea is another great way to brighten up your blonde or gray hair. It can shine up your blonde hair or give the illusion your gray hair is really blonde. You will need a bowl to pour and a bucket or bowl to catch the excess tea. Also add a bit of lemon to the tea to help the coloring properties. Pour the tea onto your head and let any tea that falls catch in the bucket so you can again pour it on your head. Repeat about 20 times then let your hair dry. You can rinse with plain water or even better keep it on your hair and just let it dry. Continuous use will help you keep the results, just a couple of times a week should be good enough.
Marigolds - Marigolds add a coppery tone to hair and can be used on gray, blonde or even lighter brown hair. You can figure out the best recipe for your hair but with as little as ½ cup of marigolds you can liven up your hair. Make a really strong tea, with a bit of tea and rinse with the marigold tea in the same way you would with chamomile. You can even add chamomile and marigold teas together to create a healthy natural dye for your
hair.
