Natural Ways to Losing Weight

All of us have gone through ups and downs in our lives where we gained a few extra pounds for a month or two and maybe even kept them for years or lost so much weight that we looked like ghosts.

I remember specifically about my own life how one time I lost so much weight due to a diet I was on because I had an illness ( so not for beauty) that the way I looked scared me. I was so skinny. I looked like a ghost. It was then that I realized that just because one is skinny doesn't mean she is beautiful or looks good at all.

Still, I believe that we should have a healthy weight and some of us do not look as good with a few extra pounds especially on our hips and bellies. I know I do not.

So how can one lose weight the healthy way?

1. Skip one meal- We live in America where there is such an abundance of food. We order food at restaurants and they bring us a plate fit for a king. We eat it all so that we won't waste it although our stomachs scream, "no more". I agree that food should not be wasted, but we can always take the other half home and reheat it and eat it another time.

Skip breakfast or even better dinner and do not eat after 6 pm. If you are hungry around 9 pm eat an apple or some grapes and drink plenty of water. If you do this just for a month you are guaranteed to lose at least 5 lbs. That is about 2 sizes drop. Just one month!

2. Skip 2 meals-Drink a bottle of juice in the morning and at one at night. I believe the best juice to drink is The Green Machine. They also have blue, red, etc. You can find these at Publix or health food stores. Whole Food Markets have it too and that store is wonderful. The Green Machine has a lot of servings of vegetables you need in one day and the juice is not totally pasteurized. Pasteurized drinks have almost all their vitamins destroyed. It useless to buy a carrot juice drink that is pasteurized. It has not much health value anymore.

3. Become a semi-vegetarian-eat only vegetables-salads and also cooked vegetables. I love going to Cracker Barrel and ordering the vegetable plate. I love the green beans, okra, and especially the hash brown casserole. For your next meal order a Caesar salad with some grilled salmon on eat . That is a very healthy - you will see the pounds coming off. Eat one egg and vegetables. Did you know that our bodies need 22 amino acids (proteins) to be healthy. They are called essential amino acids. But did you also know that one egg has all 22, but any other meat doesn't?

4. Drink apple cider vinegar-yes, it might sound sour and yuck...but it is not at all and it sheds pounds. Mix a cup of water with a tea spoon of vinegar and drink it before you eat. Throughout the day have about 5 or 6 more cups like that before you eat or just whenever you have some time. It is amazing what it does. Don't forget though that this works best with one of the diets mentioned above. One cannot expect to eat without control and lose weight.

So, here are a few ways to lose weight. The problem is not with our diets and our food always, but also with us. So we have any self-control? Do we really need to drink a 32 oz soda or could we just drink 10 oz and the rest of it water? Do we have patience of we want immediate results?
