Natural Ways of Treating Both Varicose Veins and Spider Veins

Veins are a type of blood vessel that allows deoxygenated blood from the organs to return to the heart, which is then pumped to the lungs to be oxygenated and pumped through the arteries. Veins can also act as a means of storage for unused blood.

Varicose veins are veins that do not have proper circulation and as such, pools of deoxygenated blood form, making them bulgy and visible

Varicose veins, if needed to be prevented and optimal circulation maintained, it is important to strengthen the walls of your veins. It is not essential for you to use any drugs or chemical treatments for curing and preventing the varicose veins, because there are a lot of natural ways available. A few of more well known and effective treatments are discussed below.

1. One of the known natural treatments for varicose veins is the use of herb horse chestnut. It contains a natural chemical known as aescin, which helps in strengthening of the vein walls, and thus prevents any sort of leaking. About two to four 500-mg capsules of the herb if consumed daily can give effective results.

2. Use of antioxidants also helps in curing varicose veins. They contain bioflavonoid which helps in strengthening of the walls of the veins. Fruits and vegetables have antioxidants in them, and so people suffering from varicose veins should consume a diet rich in them. These antioxidants impart the colors to the fruits and the vegetables, thus the more colorful they are, the more amounts of antioxidants they contain.

3. Another important way of reducing the size of the varicose veins is by Acupuncture. This is absolutely free from any kinds of side effects.

4. Foods like pineapples, apples, black tea and onions have chemicals that help in treating the varicose vein problems. A chemical named bromelain, helps in reducing the soreness of the varicose veins. Another anti-inflammatory chemical called quercetin, which generally is available in the capsule form helps in curing the varicose veins.

5. A general exercise like putting your feet up for about 10 minutes each day can also help you to get rid of the problem. The basic logic is to raise your legs above your heart, in order to make the blood flow away from your veins and thus make them stronger. Also you can buy a mattress wedge which helps you raise your foot of your bed for about several inches. This will help you to prevent the varicose veins problems even while just relaxing.
