Natural Wisdom: Learning from Nature, How Does it Make Sense?

AG SUKANDAR
When do we human actualize ourselves as human in our dignity? So far, we recognize us human as intellectual being. Moreover we are spiritual and religious, higher level than other beings, infra-human creatures. We human have capability to learn everything, keep the experiences in mind, and articulate them in many ways on behalf of our perfection. From the time being we have had records of our progressions manifested in our cultures, traditions and history. There was a period when we understood human in a fusion with universe. Then in the next period we supposed that relationship between human being and the universe was in terms of subject-object relationship. And later, we realize that we human should live in a mutual relationship with the universe. In its turn the universe is not a thing we can just exploit any longer, but it plays rules that we should apreciate. There might be a majestic design that places human being and the universe in a mutual partnership scenario for the goodness of them both alltogether. Each of them has finality of their existence. Even those which have bad impacts against humanity, still have been well designed for their being.

From this point of view, to learn from the nature has come to make sense. In some way the nature seems to be "other person" that accompanies humandkind to go living. In other words the nature has its own stories - and so wisdoms - to listen. Of course it is metaphoric language that we say so. And the proper method to do with this is (metaphysical) analogy. With this method, one meaning of a certain value system resonates one of others. Human's intellectuality can draws the insights of the nature's value system and apply them as his frame of reference into his value system. With this method we could understand what the concept is behind the words "natural wisdom". Natural realities could be like mirrors that reflect human's realities. As well as we could understand symbols taken from the nature, we could be helped to identify who we are by the symbolizations. That's why we can admire nature-on-the-spots, or nature-in-actions at some occations. They tell us something!

Reviewing other articles, we have one more site to add in the list of resources online in such cathegory. "Wisdom" is supposed to be the keyword. And "nature" would be the domain where the wisdoms could be explored freely. We will find on there how the editor of this blog does learn from the nature to get its wisdoms. He tries not to miss every moment of encountering impressive experiences with infra-human creatures.

Actually there are so many available resources concerning on this subject: the Holy Book, spiritual literatures, traditional fables, poetries, songs, myths, so on. For centuries it has become enduring tradition of religions and communities to tell wisdoms in many ways. Some of them were designed to educate people about morals and ways of life. It is basically and naturally human concern to formulate values or meanings that he finds in his actual life again and again, as notes of his learning to live, to face similar problems and so on. Spritually, doe to the nature based the wisdoms could be channels for human to the divinity from where he believes all the wisdoms come. The wisdoms could be extrapolated as the Wisdoms of God himself, God The Creator of The Nature.

In the line of the tradition, the editor of this blog seems to make records of his experiences. Sometimes he adds quotations from the Holy Gospel or others to underline the inspirations, or pictures to make impressions of the "reality". Sometimes he applies personifications on the creatures as if the stories has been told by them. The nature tells stories, and the editor try to translate them.

The posted articles look like notes of his spiritual journey, moreover his pilgrimage to The Creator who always calls everyone to listen to His Words through this most extensive or even unlimited resources: The Nature! Indeed, this kind of matter needs a wholehearted and faithful effort. This is not mere a brain-working. This might be a work of soul that longs for a deeper relationship with The Creator through-and-together-with the admirable nature.

Simple displayed but nice blog to visit. Even you can do the similar thing for your own journey!
