Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal: A Review

The Pen
Two years ago I tried an all natural deodorant called The Crystal with good results. So when I ran out awhile ago I went to CVS Pharmacy to buy another stick of it, but the only crystal deodorant they carried was by the Naturally Fresh brand.

I usually stick to one brand when I like a product, but the Naturally Fresh Crystal looked exactly like the Crystal. They both contained natural mineral salts and ammonium alum, but instead of being in c-thru pink plastic cylinder like the Crystal, Naturally Fresh was in a c-thru blue one.

The Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal contains a clear smooth crystal that looks like a large piece of ice, which is how the Crystal looks as well. The only difference between the two is that the edge of Naturally Fresh's crystal has vertical lines cut into it.

To use the deodorant you have to moisten the crystal and then you just rub it over your underarms like any other deodorant. Naturally Fresh claims that the deodorant gives you 24hr protection by creating a protective barrier against odor causing bacteria, and that it lasts up to one year.

I used Naturally Fresh the following day and I realized that I liked it better than The Crystal because its textured edges allows it to get moist faster than The Crystal brand's deodorant. I was able to apply the deodorant faster and for the most part it has given me up to 24 hours of protection even when I exercise and sweat.

I like Naturally Fresh because you're basically just rubbing water underneath your arms, once the water dries you're left with your natural skin, so you're not wearing a sticky deodorant or something that's going to irritate or dry your skin.

It also lasts just like Naturally Fresh claims I've had my stick for about 6 months now and I would say about 4/5 of it is still left.

The thing that I don't like about using a crystal deodorant is that even though it's quick to apply, it does take about a minute longer to put on than regular deodorant, because you have to make sure it's wet and you have to swipe about 4 or 5 layers under each arm just to make sure that they are completely coated.

Another downside to using a natural deodorant is that it's not an anti-perspirant so Naturally Fresh won't prevent you from sweating. So when I use this on a warm day my underarms will still sweat and feel kind of gross and sticky.

In the End...

The Naturally Fresh Deodorant Crystal is the best and most consistent deodorant I've used. I always feel fresh and clean whenever I use this and confident that I'm going to stay that way all day. It's natural, healthy, doesn't stain clothes and makes your skin feel good so I'd definitely buy it again. 5 out of 5 stars.
