Nature Cleans the Air; An Alternative View to the Global Warming Hysterics

Houseplants were proven in an interesting NASA study from 2004 to not only clean the air; but to remove pollutants. It's actually part of an even bigger picture about a biological phenomenon known as phytoremediation, which could help solve som problems with contaminated environments, using trees and plants to do the job. This reminds me of an amazing revelation about septic tanks and waste; that we do not need chemicals to clean the environment, we can let bacteria do the job. Not only do plants clean up carbon dioxide, that evil contaminant that supposedly we are destroying the environment with, but they also clean up formaldehyde, nitrogen dioxide carbon monoxide. This is one of the reasons that plants have been introduced into office buildings; to combat the effects of people living in buildings where formaldehyde is being emitted from carpets, and other gases are coming from the slow breakdown from plastics and other synthetic man-made materials like paint.

Nature is simply ingenius: there are checks and balances built into the system which counters the effects of certain harmful things entering the atmosphere. It adjusts for things like carbon monoxide being released into the air. Plants actually grow because they breathe CO2. This is one of the facts that seems to have been totally lost over the last 20 years; when I was a kid, this was common knowledge.

One of the adjustments in our atmosphere that was made recently was because of two volcanoes that erupted, and as a result of SO2, or sulfur dioxide, released into the air, the earth's temperature actually DECREASED. There was the Kilauea Volcano and Mauna Loa, and when sulfur dioxide entered the atmosphere, it had this magical dispersal effect that is characterized as 'aerosol'. The tiny sulfuric acid droplets enter the stratosphere, which has the effect of cloud cover, cooling the surface of the earth.

This flies in the face of the global warming proponents, but so does the idea that CO2 emissions from humans would have any effect whatsoever on the environment, if we succeeded in totally getting rid of it. This pie chart shows how little CO2 we actually release into the air, and came from a powerpoint presentation that was the product of a scientist who was not paid by the government to skew his models or results in favor of the global warming hysteria. When you compare how much SO2 and CO2 has been released in the past due to volcanic activity alone, and the result was COOLING, it is simply laughable that anyone would try to pass the lie past us that global warming is a danger.

Former senior research scientist for NASA, Dr. Bill Wolverton, even wrote a book about houseplants called How to Grow Fresh Air: 50 Houseplants to Purify Your Home or Office. There is no artificial method available, particularly in an open environment like the earth which does not respond like a closed greenhouse or terrarium to control the earth's temperature. Some are desperate to blame the Bush administration for global warming. Perhaps this is due, in part, to their frustration that the President didn't sign the Kyoto treaty. They assign him some sci-fi type powers along with their hysteria; that he has a weather control machine in the Whitehouse. That was part of the hysteria that came out of the Katrina aftermath. If this didn't effect me personally, I wouldn't be mentioning it; but it's obvious to me just from some of these experiments in space and other evidence, that absolutely no 'warming' is occurring that we can control; and if it's warming, the earth is dynamic and will correct itself. Nature will find a way.
