Nature Poem: A Poem About Healing

Soft of Down

Cindy Lynn
Everyone experiences sadness, and there are times when it's not easy to overcome those feelings. However, one way to counteract them is to interact with nature. Perhaps that's why a poem about nature always calls out to us, beckoning us to not only be aware of the divine creatures around us, but to link hearts. This poem emphasizes the healing power of that connection.

Soft of Down

Floating on the water's edge,
Feathered duck, between the sedge.
Soft of down and light of wing
A sight to make a sad heart sing.

Watching as the sun's last ray
Sinks below the quiet bay.
It tucks a satiny head in tight
While stars above kiss it goodnight.

Floating on the water's edge,
Feathered duck, between the sedge.
Erasing sadness and its sting,
A sight to make a glad heart sing.
