I really don't like taking antibiotics or medicine at all, especially when it takes days to kick in. So I wanted to find a natural way to help my body heal itself and prevent a urinary tract infection from occurring in the first place, and I knew that cranberries were the secret.
I'd read that pure unsweetened cranberry juice was recommended for a healthy bladder but I'm not disciplined enough to down a glass of it every day so when I came across Nature's Bounty Super Cranberry Soft Gels at CVS I decided to buy a bottle of 100 for $9.99 because the label claimed it would promote urinary health.
The Cranberry Soft Gels contains 100mg of vitamin C to help boost the immune system, 3IU of vitamin E, and 140mg of cranberry concentrate powder. The Nature's Bounty Super Gels also contain the inactive ingredients of soybean oil, gelatin, soy lecithin, glycerin, and yellow beeswax.
Originally I planned on following the instructions on the label which state that one or two of the Nature's Bounty Super Cranberry Soft Gels should be taken 1-3 times daily after meals.
That routine lasted for about a week, but then I got lazy and I didn't touch the supplements again until a year later when I got a burning sensation when I used the bathroom and I realized that another urinary tract infection was coming on.
Sure enough I started to feel the urge to urinate even after I had gone minutes before. So I downed 3 of the Nature's Bounty Super Cranberry Soft Gels three times a day for the next few days and drank a ton of water.
I had a strong urge to pee that first day but after that my bladder and urinary tract began to calm down and the urge became less frequent and intense, and by the third day I felt completely normal again.
I continued to use one Nature's Bounty pill three times a day for another week just to make sure the infection was cleared up. Since that time I've had to do this routine another time and I've found that the Super Cranberry soft gels have completely worked for me, and one bottle lasts about 4 years so I haven't needed to purchase a new one yet.
In the End...
I've had great results with Nature's Bounty Super Cranberry Soft Gels. I should probably use them more often to maintain a healthy bladder, but when I haven't they've helped me to find relief from occasional urinary tract infections.
I don't want to claim that this is a cure but I will say that it's helped to balance my bladder and keep it healthy enough to heal itself. I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to prevent urinary tract infections, or who wants to clear one up naturally. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
