Nature's Harvest Organic Ground Beef Recall
34,000 Pounds of Organic Ground Beef Being Recalled for the Slim Possibility of E. Coli contamination
According to First Class Foods Inc., there have been no reports of illness associated with eating these products. Stores are pulling the affected Nature's Harvest organic ground beef products off the shelves and customers are directed to return the product to their retailer for a refund. Affected ground beef include the following:
--16-oz. packages of "NATURE'S HARVEST ORGANIC GROUND BEEF BRICK" sold singly with one of the following "USE or FREEZE by" dates: "12/30/10" or "01/08/11."
--16-oz. packages of "ORGANIC HARVEST ORGANIC GROUND BEEF BRICK" sold singly and in three-packs with one of the following "USE or FREEZE by" dates: "12/28/10" or "01/06/11."
--16-oz. packages of NATURE'S HARVEST GROUND PATTY" containing four (4) 4-oz. patties with the following "USE or FREEZE by" date: "12/30/10" or "01/08/11."
The retail distribution list is not available yet, but the FSIS web site notes that these products were produced on Dec 7 and December 16 of 2010 and shipped to retailers in California, New Jersey, New York, Wisconsin, North Carolina and the state of Washington.
