Nature's Way Sambucus Black Elderberry Original Syrup Review
One of the Best Products that I Have Found for Coughs
At one point I had a cough that seemed to linger forever and was just about ready to try anything to help it. I came across the information that elderberry syrup was very good for coughs so I bought a bottle of Nature's Way Sambucus Black Elderberry Original Syrup. I was familiar with the brand Nature's Way, I had seen them in the vitamin section many times. The bottle that I got contained about a dozen doses for 12 days of what the company called daily maintenance, or 3 days for what the company called intensive use. I was using somewhere in between. I do not recall the exact cost of this product but as you can imagine it was not cheap, I want to say that it was just over 10 dollars though. If this did not work quickly and I had to get more than one bottle I worried that it could get expensive.
Thankfully the Nature's Way Sambucus Black Elderberry Original Syrup turned out to be one of the best herbal supplements that I came across. It definitely helped out with my cough and I decided to keep it on hand for future coughs that I would get. The taste was not bad, if you hate elderberries you might not enjoy it but as far as medicines goes it was actually much more pleasant than what I had anticipated. My son had a cough for a while and thankfully there were instructions for children taking it so I was able to give it to him too, he liked the taste as well. The dose for a child was half as much so the bottle went a long way for him.
The directions on the bottle say for adults to take 2 teaspoons every day for daily maintenance and 2 teaspoons four times a day for intensive use. For children the directions are 1 teaspoon daily for daily maintenance or 1 teaspoon four times a day for intensive use. The box did not say exactly how old the child had to be but my son was 2 when I gave it to him. The box did say that the Nature's Way Sambucus Black Elderberry Original Syrup was a natural formula, bio-certified, had a great taste, was kosher, was virologist tested standardized extract, and made from premium cultivar elderberries that had higher naturally-occurring levels of BioActives. It also disclosed other ingredients and nutrition facts.
The other ingredients used in the Nature's Way Sambucus Black Elderberry Original Syrup were fructose, purified water, vegetable-source glycerin, natural raspberry flavor, and citric acid. There were no artificial preservatives or colors. I was very pleased with all of these ingredients. The nutrition facts were not bad either. In one adult serving there were 25 calories, 6 grams of carbohydrates and 5 grams of sugars. Overall I was very pleased with the test, ingredients, and of course the effect of this herbal supplement. I would recommend for anyone to try it and I try to keep it on hand.
