Plot
On the peaceful, teddy bear inhabited Perfection Island, everything is going nicely. Except for Naughty Bear. He is the only one who hasn't been invited to Daddles's birthday party because he's such a troublemaker. Naughty wanted to turn over a new leaf, so he made a homemade gift and decided to show up at the party anyway. Unfortunately, some of the other bears saw his gift and ridiculed it. Naughty Bear went home to sulk and then decided that it was time to get even with everyone on Perfection Island. Time to be naughty.
Tone of the Game
There is something special about a video game where you play a teddy bear who decides to get his machete and do what teddy bears do worst: death and destruction. The teddy bears don't talk in this game, but instead use a variety of sounds and facial expressions to communicate in an adorable sort of way. Throughout the game, there is an unseen narrator who gives off the feel of a children's show narrator. The creators said they were influenced by the idea of violence meeting innocence. The dark humor of the game make it fun.
Gameplay
The gameplay of Naughty Bear is quite an experience. Naught Bear is able to use a number of techniques for killing and maiming his fellow bears. Sneak up behind your victims and take them out in a number of creative ways. If other bears happen to witness your crimes, they run towards the phones to call the teddy police and commandos on you. If you beat them to the phone, however, you can have the pleasure of beating them to death with the receiver--all in good fun, of course. Other bears will go insane from the intense carnage. Poor little things.
Of course all of this violent revenge would get old after a while. Luckily, the plot moves quickly from destroying teddy bears to focusing your efforts on ninjas, aliens, and other invaders who want to destroy Perfection Island. Where the game fails is the use of camera angles, which can cause some very frustrating times. The game recycles some of its basic ideas a bit too much throughout the game, but overall it is a very fun title that will be worth your time if you're in the mood for some crazy action with teddy bears. Reviewers give it about a 6/10.
