Naughty or Nice: You Deserve a Very Noddy Lager: A Review of Very Noddy Lager from Buckbean Brewing Company

I'm not a spokesperson for Buckbean nor do I get paid for reviews but if they offered I'd surely be their mouthpiece from the north midwest. Hell, I'd even lie for them! As is, I'm a willing and happily inclined participant in this tit-for-tat. I receive samples from them every few months and write my pithy reviews to an uncaring and hop-induced audience and they get exposure as they, the producer of fine brews, rightfully should.

Well, hoppers and schwarzbier lovers alike we have a beer for ye. Not particularly hoppy but what germinates beneath the foggy depths does permeate the black veneer of grains and suds as an alcohol mist of finely roasted and toasted malt fingers touching you and touching me in the uvula region of my very gross anatomy. Like any good beer the flavors come in waves. First, is a semi-sweet dark chocolate followed by a malt infusion that slides into the hop finish which more or less stimulates the tastebuds into a coma of warmth and serenity. Seriously man...I'm about to noddy off! Waka waka waka.

Another excellent micro beer from the craft brewery who is bringing the canned brewski back via an underground fashion statement. If you're near Reno check them out and if not just e-mail Ms. Constance and beg her for a small sample box and she just might accommodate your heathen sensibilities. I also advise you to drink it slower than I did because I'm pretty mellow right now if you know what I mean.

PS the excess foamscud was from me opening the box up and getting right to the beer without letting it settle. Luckily UPS or whoever delivered it left it on the porch and it was ice cold to pour and drink.
