Nazism in the Middle East During World War II

Nazism is the body of political and economic doctrines held and put into effect by the Nazis in Germany from 1933 to 1945 including the totalitarian principle of government, predominance of especially Germanic groups assumed to be racially superior, and supremacy of the führer. Nazism, through the leadership of Adolf Hitler, caused the massacre of millions of Jews during the holocaust and the Third Reich. Nazis were mainly prejudice against the Jews. Holocaust happened because Hitler and the Nazis were racist. They believed the German people were a 'master race', who were superior to others. the Nazis used not only racist arguments but also arguments derived from older negative stereotypes, including Jews as communist subversives, as war profiteers and hoarders, and as a danger to internal security because of their inherent disloyalty and opposition to Germany. Another cause of holocaust was traditional anti semitism. Anti-Semitism is an expression of deep negative feelings for Jews. Its roots are theological and psychological, and it differs from other forms of ethnic and racial prejudice.

Anti-semitism exists not only in the west, but also in the east. Especially in the middle east region. In this region, anti-Semitic expressions and manifestations are rooted in Islam. The historical (and traumatic) meeting between the Jewish tribes living in the Arabian Peninsula and the prophet Mohammed (who, along with his first supporters, tried unsuccessfully to convert them to Islam) has been thoroughly exploited. In the Qur'an and various Islamic traditions (the hadiths) there are "negative characteristics" intrinsic in the Jewish character. The Jews everywhere are "the Muslim's bitter enemies," said a prominent Islamic leader. The similarities between Nazism and Islamic fascism are in anti-Semitism (judeophobia).

In the 1930s, the fascist regimes in Italy and Germany sought greater stakes in the area, and began courting Arab leaders to revolt against their British and French custodians. One of them was Jerusalem Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini. The Islamic community of Germany welcomed him as the "Führer of the Arabic world." In 1944, al-Husayni sponsored an unsuccessful chemical warfare assault on the Jewish community in Palestine. Throughout the war, he appeared regularly on German radio broadcasts to the Middle East, preaching his pro-Nazi, anti-Semitic message to the Arab masses.

Hilter's regime also financed the Nazi-inspired Arab Liberation Army that terrorized Jews in Palestine. Nazis action was replicated here, with calls to boycott Jewish businesses and physical attacks on Jews. Political parties that imitated the Nazis were also founded, such as the Syrian Social Nationalist Party and Young Egypt. During 1941, in Mosul, Iraq, pro-Nazi Arab activists continued to propagandize against Jews. Indeed, a popular WWII song was heard in the Middle East featuring words: Bissama Allah, oria alard Hitler - in heaven Allah, on earth Hitler.

Although the Allies won the war,the Nazi spirit lived on. The fierce anti-Jewish hatred that was exacerbated by the Mufti in the Islamic world, fueled by the German war machine, continues to resonate today throughout the Arab and Persian world.
