The advantages for this team are youth and the ability to be competitive. LeBron has done very well for the team but it has been everyone else that has also gotten behind that team so he does have that skill to compete with anyone no matter who it would be exactly. Ownership has proven that they want a winner and not play around with frequently having losing season after losing season. While they don't have the experience as a team overall in the NBA Championship, they do however have the heart and determination to get the job done when it really counts. The games Cleveland lost weren't exactly a blow out situation. They played well but it will come down to how much they want it and they just might have the team that can get it done and win their 1st ever championship.
Looking at them as a whole, they have the depth and the coaching to keep winning championships and they've done so. The Western Conference is going to be for them for the taking. They've won championships starting in that season shortened 1999 season and haven't looked back since and have yet to lose an NBA Championship series. Duncan and the Spurs have shown as players they are going to be competitive and have won the big games when it has become absolutely necessary, which is just about everytime. In short, they would be the heavy favorites to go ahead and get the championship once again but it could be interesting to see how it would play out. If they didn't make it here again, it would be a total shock.
While it would be a lock to easily pick the Spurs to go back to back on championships, it's going to however be a shock pick that is going to be made. Based upon the Cavs performance, it would be an upset to give them the championship due to what happened last season. However, they will be able to pull off the upset but it wouldn't be an easy one. They could very well win it in 7 games due to the competitive nature of both teams. In an upset pick, the Cavs are the ones to get the championship in redemption from last season.
NBA '07 Champs: Cleveland CavaliersThis has concluded the entire NBA 2007-08 preview of what is expected to happen. All that was said was who is going to win and get the wild cards. Coming up sometime soon will be the NHL Season for 2007-08 season.
