NBA Best Bets: January 4th

Grizzlies +13.5 over CELTICS

Sure, the Celtics have the best record in the NBA and sure they have three great NBA players, but don't forget that they have a HUGE game on Saturday night away against the Pistons. Sometimes it is hard to play one game at a time and not look ahead and I feel that this will be a trap game. The Celtics might not lose this one, but it should be a little closer than most people think.

Rockets +4 over MAGIC

The Rockets have looked a little better than they did to start the season and the Magic have looked worse. The Rockets just gave the Celtics a run for their money and I can see Yao Ming having a good defensive game against Dwight Howard here. The Rockets have the weapons to hang with the Magic and I would not be surprised to see them pull off the upset here.

LAKERS -8 over 76ers

The Lakers have been playing some pretty good basketball this season even though it seemed that Kobe had written them off months ago. If the Lakers don't wear the very restrictive short shorts against the 76ers than they should have no problem winning the game by a good margin.

NETS -6.5 over Bobcats

The Nets have picked up their game of late and they should have a good game a home against the Bobcats. More than anything this is a game that the Nets need to have if they are going to stay competitive for a good spot in the playoffs. The Bobcats are anything but the model of a great team and the Nets should be able to pull this one off.

SPURS -13.5 over Knicks

The Spurs took a bad loss to the Nuggets last night and they should take out their frustrations at home against the lowly Knicks. The Knicks will just plain be outmatched when they face the Spurs and I will be surprised if the Spurs do not win by more than 20 points.

Nuggets -6 over TIMBERWOLVES

The Timberwolves are just plain awful this season and I don't see that changing on Friday night against the Nuggets. The Nuggets are playing some decent basketball and as long as they don't thoroughly overlook the Wolves they should coast to an easy victory in Minnesota.

Nuggets/Timberwolves U208.5

The Nuggets should score over 100 against the Wolves but I don't see the Timberwolves doing their part to hit the over in this game. The Timberwolves just don't have the offense and unless the Nuggets hit 120, I don't see this game making the over.
