This article lists the NBA Champions from 1947 to present: it provides each championship series result, MVP, winning coach, and regular season record of the championship team.

Three franchises have won the NBA Championship more than five times: Boston Celtics (17), Los Angeles/Minneapolis Lakers (15), and Chicago Bulls (6).

Five teams have won back-to-back NBA championships: Boston Celtics (7), Los Angeles/Minneapolis Lakers (5), Chicago Bulls (4), Houston Rockets (1), and Detroit Pistons (1).

Nine players have been voted MVP of the NBA Finals two or more times: Michael Jordan (6), Magic Johnson (3), Shaquille O'Neal (3), Tim Duncan (3), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (2), Willis Reed (2), Larry Bird (2), Hakeem Olajuwon (2), and Kobe Bryant (2).

Four coaches have won five or more NBA championships: Phil Jackson (11), Red Auerbach (9), Pat Riley (5), and John Kundla (5). Seven other coaches have won two or more NBA championships: Gregg Popovich (4), Bill Russell (2), Red Holzman (2), Tom Heinsohn (2), K.C. Jones (2), Chuck Daly (2), and Rudy Tomjanovich (2).

The NBA Championship has been decided in seven games 17 times, six games 24 times, five games 15 times, and four games 8 times.

    I was driving a taxi and living outside of DC in 78 when the Bulletts won that year. One helluva championship series for sure. I'll bet I went to near a dozen home games that year. Saw the Bulletts whip Jabaar and the Lakers once that year. Fun!
