NBA Finals Schedule 2010 an ESPN Dream

Ryan Christopher DeVault
NBA Finals schedule 2010 could become a Lakers vs. Celtics series tonight. Having the NBA Finals schedule of 2010 turning into Boston vs. Los Angeles would be another dream series for ESPN, which loves showcase anything that involves these two teams. It's much like their affliction for the Boston Red Sox vs. New York Yankees over in baseball, and it too has become tiring for many fans around the league. Sure, those people that are Celtics or Lakers fans would love to see another showdown between the two most successful franchises in the history of the NBA, but there are also many people around the country who are tired of seeing stories about these two teams.

The NBA Finals schedule for 2010 will have all games broadcast on ABC, which works hand-in-hand with ESPN already. Oh and did we mention that Sports Center is now being shown from a studio in Los Angeles? It could be argued that because these franchises are so successful these past few years that they have more band-wagon fans than any other team could imagine. When the Lakers are playing well, there are suddenly many more celebrities that care how they are doing as well, and when the Celtics are winning, there are suddenly fans that live and die by game outcomes. Not to say that this doesn't happen for other NBA teams as well, but it seems to get to a fever pitch if it involves either the Lakers or Celtics.

You better believe that the brass at ESPN, ABC, and probably even the NBA is hoping for a Lakers vs. Celtics series to take place next week. The 2010 NBA Finals schedule will get started on June 3rd now, and will also give the Western Conference champion the home court advantage. That means that games will be hosted in either Los Angeles or Phoenix depending on the outcome of Game 6 and a possible Game 7 in the Western Conference Finals. With all the buzz around another possible Lakers vs. Celtics match-up, maybe this can serve to energize the Suns once again. Steve Nash already knows he needs a big game on Saturday night, and that could turn Suns vs. Lakers Game 6 into an epic battle.

The full 2010 NBA Finals schedule will be on ABC, and we have listed the schedule below with Pacific times as it will be the Western team playing host first. Game 1 will be Thursday, June 3rd, with Game 2 taking place on Sunday, June 6th. The series will then head to Boston for the next three games before returning to the West for Game 6 and Game 7 if necessary.
