NBA Lockout... When Will it End?

Deven Jackson

The NBA lockout started at 9:01 p.m. PDT. This lock out will not change unless the owners and player can collectively come up with a bargaining agreement, and every owner must give all teams a chance to profit.

The NBA had a great year in terms of fan appreciating the fans in the 2010-2011 season, it just was very profitable for the owners, and as for the small market teams needless to say but it was a year to forget, ''Commissioner David Stern said. ''The goal here has been to make the league profitable and to have a league where all 30 teams can compete.

Player Comment: Derek Fisher:"I don't know if there's going to be any major movement" Monday, Fisher said outside of his camp in downtown Los Angeles. "We've agreed maybe to table some of the economic issues and really focus on the system issues and non-economic items that are still extremely important to rounding out a collective bargaining agreement."

Maurice Evans:''With the press conference that they had - don't want to get into he said, she said, but that just wasn't very accurate. It's evident of the time we spent in the room that we were here, we were bargaining, we were making progress. For it all to suddenly end - that should speak volumes in itself.''

Cohen didn't recommend that the two sides continue the mediation process as they weren't able to resolve the ''strongly held, competing positions that separated them on core issues.''

Though the sides have said they believe bargaining is the only route to a deal, the process could end up in the courts. Each brought an unfair labor practice charge against the other with the National Labor Relations Board, and the league also filed a federal lawsuit against the union attempting to block it from testifying.

Union officials, so far, have been opposed to desertification, a route the NFL players initially chose during their lockout, will this method work out! only time will tell. As for the millions of faithful fans and season ticket holders your probably not going to miss any action for the exciting season, but for the new draft class teams will not be able to asses the players performance, and that can make or break a player, as for some of the older vitrine players it does leave a small window for them. Owners are looking for younger talent to shock the league like the young Oklahoma City Thunders and its costing vets like Derek Fisher and a host of other seasoned players to speak out before its to late to speak at all.
