NBC Fall TV Preview

I love television so much, and NBC has by far the best programming of the season. Everything they are showing on Monday and Thursdays appeals to me, while they leave Tuesday open for my viewing pleasure, and its Wednesdays also look amazing. I think I might check out Las Vegas for the first time as well.

Unfortunately, now that I am done, I have to review the CW network which is a steaming pile of crap.

Monday

8pm: Chuck: A computer nerd is accidently brought into the national intelligence arena when he opens an encrypted email and starts having flashbacks. This looks like a half-assed mixture of The Pretender and Burn Notice, but Adam Baldwin is in it, and Baldwin is good at comedy so I will give this show a chance as long as it stays comedic and doesn't go dramatic like Alias did and take itself too seriously.

9pm: Heroes: This is the best show on television. Between its cryptic messages, the lines between good and evil always being blurred and storylines reminiscent of those from X-Men, as well as an amazing ensemble cast, there are just so many reasons why this show is great. Guest Spots from George Takei, as well as a recurring role from the star of Veronica Mars. Everything about this show is awesome, its flashy, full of substance and great acting and it appeals to everyone of all ages.

10pm: Journeyman: This is the same show as Quantum Leap and I loved Quantum Leap. I'm so conflicted on Mondays now. NBC's entire night is awesome, but I've dedicated the past two years to Fox. The star travels back in time to fix issues, and like Sliders, Quantum Leap and Early Edition, other aspects of his life will probably change as he changes things in the past. No one believes him as to why he is disappearing for days at a time so he needs to provide proof (Think the movie Frequency) so that his wife won't think he is crazy anymore.

Tuesday

8pm: The Biggest Loser: Reality shows don't deserve my reviews, because they're all heaps of Garbage. BUT, this show is amazing. I love watching fat people make fools of themselves trying to lose weight, because that's what I did. They should combine this with Dancing with the Stars however and have gigantic Celebrities falling on their asses every 32 seconds.

930pm: The Singing Bee: : Reality shows don't deserve my reviews, because they're all heaps of Garbage. It is a half hour Karaoke show, which has no appeal to me at all.

10pm: Law and Order SVU: AS my friend Sean pointed out, why the hell are we force-fed 3 hours of Law and Order a week on one station, and 3 hours of CSI on another. Every plot is essentially the same and I still don't care about these serial dramas that have spawned multiple copies on every network.

Wednesday

8pm: Deal or No Deal: Reality shows don't deserve my reviews, because they're all heaps of Garbage.

9pm: Bionic Woman: This could really be a good show, if it had a good cast, or a good plot, or a good budget, or a good looking main star. Nothing about this show looks good, and once people watch the first few episodes, its viewership will drop off dramatically, but this will only make the show Life suffer and eventually get cancelled after a few episodes.

10pm: Life: Unfortunately for this show, it doesn't matter whether it is good or not. It won't last and it will be a combination of CSI and Dirty Sexy Money dominating the time slot as well as Bionic Woman being complete garbage that will result in a midseason cancellation for this poor show.

Thursday

8pm: My name is Earl: A criminal wins the lottery and tries to fix all his mistakes. Jason Lee brings comedy gold to this show, and if it weren't for him and his awesome comedy acting, this show would be bland and stupid, much like everything on the CW network.

830pm: 30 Rock: Basically, I refuse to watch this show because it was remarkably like Studio 60 in terms of plot, had a much less entertaining cast, and its only draw was that it was written by Tina Fay.

9pm: The Office: This is the funniest show ever, and with its extremely weird filming style and sophisticated humor, I am surprised it hasn't been cancelled. Steve Carell is just amazing in everything he does and this show will go on to have a strong fourth season.

930pm: Scrubs: I don't see Scrubs lasting a lot longer, if only because Zach Braff is becoming extremely popular and I can't see him chilling on television when multimillion dollar movie contracts are waiting for him.

10pm: ER: WILL THIS SHOW EVER FUCKING END? Everyone on the show ever has quit and it keeps going lower and lower in the ratings. Eventually, this show has to get cancelled, but first, I guess they need to find a suitable replacement for it and it appears that network television has forgot what it means to make quality programming.

Friday

8pm: Deal or No Deal: Reality shows don't deserve my reviews, because they're all heaps of Garbage.

9pm: Friday Night Lights: Oh great, lets adapt a shitty book into a shitty television show, watch it get lower ratings than Studio 60 did....but keep it anyways and move it to the Friday night death slot.

10pm: Las Vegas: A few movie stars are security at a Las Vegas Casino, where guest stars frequently die, and it is unfortunately on at the worst possible time. What did James Caan, Josh Duhamel, and Tom Selleck do to deserve this spot?

Saturday

8pm: Dateline NBC: I love the news, and this is a true news show, even though it usually follows the exploits of my buddy Xavier Von Erck as he busts in on child molesters with his crew at perverted justice.

9pm: TV repeats: Oooo, Repeats. They should show Heroes over and over again on Saturday nights. It would bring in so many viewers.

Sunday

7-11pm: Sunday nights on NBC are football nights. The ratings will probably be very high for football as it is truly Americas past time instead of baseball which has been around longer.
